Description : Updated 2/14/2022 This composition is "Swunked" which is a swing-funk that's jazzy. I mixed this dirty because sometimes I like dirt! Swing beat with synth bass, Rhodes MK V, Rocking Sax, A smooth french horn with real butter on it, and a piccolo bass solo on top of the synth bass, cool piano throughout with a solo then the OUTRO. Drum programming, written arranged, mixed, mastered by M.T. Enjoy.

Description : My last LP very jazzy, in the spirit of Bugge Wesseltoft, one of the best actual electro jazz man. And if you want more about me, my album is now available on my bandcamp!

Description : This song highlights a few different styles of jazz. First it starts with a kinda early 20s and 30s groove. Than it melds into a New Orleans style. Than into a sort of Maynard Ferguson big band jazz/rock groove, and finishing off with the 20s and 30s style again, all held together with some cool horns and bass. All n all, it's...Pretty Cool! Hope you like
Description : Do not freak out just because this is jazz! There's also blues, rock, funk and a little hip hop in it to break up the deep, chillout jazz sections - gets particularly rocking then funky at the end. Main bassline (the track's foundation) is recycled leftover slide resonator guitar parts detuned one octave to make a slide bass sound. Also features: piano, violin, hammered dulcimer, organ, ethereal pad guitar, bass guitar, jazz/blues/rock electric guitar and multiple programmed acoustic drumkits. This was difficult to make at times as I thought I needed more leads parts eg from sax or trumpet. But I'm happyish with the end result. I expect very little interest in this as it's both jazz and long jazz. But it's also an unusual type of genre-mixing jazz. So, leave your thoughts, good or bad, if you like...

Description : This track contains only free loops from Stayonbeat.com and several loops from Looperman artists (listed below). I "made a promise" that my next track will be use a lot of jazzy loops - well, i done with this track, for the great sadness of jazz lovers or experts i think - i fear they will never forgive me. :) While my ISP launches my internet out of the Earth system for a long time, i had to face the fact that i dont have too much downloaded jazz loops on my computer, so i think no wonder that this one is sounds like if i smoke some marihuana while making it. But hey, who cares, i like the result - it reminds me the (maybe only) really funny episode of "Breaking Bad", where Pinkman uses some heroin and flyes up with an idiotic smile on his face - that chapter is priceless. :D
I dont think this one needs a vocal, but ofcourse you can use it if you want, and as always, just write and i will give any support as i can. Any feedback welcomed too as always. Enjoy! UPDATE 2015.10.24.: improved audio quality - lower lows, higher highs. Now in 256kbps!

Description : Music by Antonio Carlos Jobim. This particular piano arrangement is from one of jazz sheet piano books I found on scribd. The electric piano is MrRay22 plugin which I played on Casio CDP220 digital piano. This is also a new piece that I learned today so it was quite tricky to get a proper touch at places and overall make the entire thing sound anywhere realistic. I tried many times and this was probably the best take. Also I am relatively new to playing latin piano music. I didn't manipulate any notes after recording - instead I added few virtual vintage amps. I choose jazz but it is a bossa nova latin style. Enjoy and feel free to comment and download.
Description : Jazzy trip hop.
Every instrument is performed and recorded live. Piano, double bass, drums.
Description : "Oh no - not jazz metal! You're not supposed to mix those genres together." Yes, but someone's got to and the musical gods have chosen me for the difficult task. 9 mins of instrumental jazz metal - damn I sure know how to write a hit song - US No 1 here I come. Anyway - there's some dark, swinging groovy jazz, with Rhodes and guitar as the main instruments, for a few minutes and then some haunting, thumping evil breaks loose. Look out for the powerful synth horn sound. And then it just gets heavier and heavier before returning to some nice chillgroove funky mystery jazz. Instruments played and/or programmed: electric guitar, bass guitar, electric cello, multiple programmed acoustic drumkits, filtered strings, Rhodes, big synth bass, evil synth horn and a few other assorted synths. I assume this has too much jazz for metallers and too much metal for jazzers. So, only for weirdoes like me who enjoy both. This will surely be too odd for most people but I like to think it's pretty interesting and powerful. Let me know how its weirdness worked for you...

Description : A smooth and jazzy delight produced at the Funktastic Studios. Please enjoy!
Another great track from you Mark. There are always lots of interesting twists in your music. On this one, the vibes runs at around 4:40 really reminded me of Gary Burton in terms of the notes and the tone. I know you have deliberately mixed this 'dirty' but on my headphones it sounded dirty in a distorted clipping sense. I also listened on my flat response 8' studio monitors and it sounded the same. Obviously, taste is subjective, but for me I think shaving of a couple of db or so on the master volume would probably achieve the 'dirt' without any unpleasant frequencies.
Groovy daddy-o. This is grooving on the dance floor with a drink in your hand in a bar the more adult clubbers frequent. Love the horns & piano. Great job man.
The contrast between the highs and lows is absolutely DELICIOUS...
This track really has the best of all the ranges but being a hardcore Basshead I just love the fullness of the Bass in this
track. That Grand piano just kills the rhythm doin whatever it wants to and still staying dead in the middle of everything thats going on Oscar Peterson style. I hated to hear this track end, and I'm a straight up 3min max man 5 almost 6min is usually way out of my comfort zone.
Great track... Faved...
PEACE from the East 75 degrees here today.:-)
Hiya! another Jazzylicious! track by you, this track is sprinkled with love it's so, beautiful! to listen to, I can tell you put your all into your tracks. Those piano keys are dancing frantically sounds like something you'll hear at an expensive swanky jazz club, very pristine indeed & much enjoyed.
You are so right but i cant help it...i love bass in music.
But trust me...the rest of your music is also great.
Seems so difficult to me but for you its like a natural thing.
another jazzy one; sounds like something to listen to while shopping at a grocery store, good job
This is crazy good. Enjoyed every minute of it. Love the bass and that part at 2:48 is absolutely gorgeous. Had to listen twice.
Ableton crew ! Early morning where I am, not a bad vibe to start the weekend with
Impressive chord progressions and interesting breaks. I like the section where the low end cuts out and that smooth sax pushes through. Brings the transition in nicely.
The dirtiness on here gives it a punch, works well. Good production and arrangement. I get the impression you are well experienced in music. Good work !
(LF)
I like a dirty mix too, end up putting saturation and compression on everything it seems like. Don't think I heard this one. I like the laid back horns. The tracks have a kind of wavyness that I can't place.
Your content is a rare level of class :)
Swunky, As great as the bass is, that Rhodes is killer. Nice side-chaining of it as well. Might that be Fab filters VST I hear? also a nice snappy snare. The piano has an interesting sound as well as you showcase the mids EQ wise on the Piano, but very tastefully. 2:48 in your face transition. I may have just pissed myself from that segment intro. Serious Piano soloing. Xylos bring it home in that 3rd segment. Awesome phrases in this outro part. Well done, i enjoyed that listen!
Hey Mark.
Sorry about the typo mate.
A really nice hot cup of Irish coffee is here for you mate.
Maj
Swunk hey, I've justed been swunked Mark, this is great the bass is blinding love the synth and again at 2.48 the sax is cool the horn solo and piano running is great, and we've got a Rhodes too gorgeous instrument the snare is dirty AF, some experiment, another I could sit and while away the afternoon with a whisky room temperature no ice straight and a joint, quite happily, well done you again
what is that instrument you used at 2 minutes 48 seconds, I really like that sound! Its like a synth, is it midi or is it analog.
This is amazinggggggg. I really like it.
Love that bass in it.
Again a great track that you produced here.
This is ready to play in a jazz cafe
Your music reflects a very diverse and diverse mindset.
Cool! The synth bass has a nice tone, kinda like a real bass git with active electronics in it. I can hear the gritty dirt and taste it, he! That piano part about 3:45ish was killer! I like how it did it's own thing, took off and took over.
Well done, another entertaining track M.T.!
