Great track mate the intro is superb leads you in beautifully, great choice of accompanying instruments, taking you on a calming ride, and the outro fade was so cool

just remarkable, man. this begins at a place that’s sustained already, and just keeps getting moreso. makes me think of chatwin’s book the songlines…

Thanks again - used the guitar again in this one and double tracked and added some effects of one line and I was happy with the use of the trumpet sample which I pitched down, cut up, double tracked and treated too

I would say too much comes in at the beginning and it'd be nice to have a simple bass not to follow with. I love the trumpets tho I would have just started with that and it would have been good.

At first I was waiting for something to come, but after a while the tune started evoking impressions of vastness - maybe the expanse of australian landscape? It echoes long after the track has ended. Not only Lo-Fi but also Cinematic as well as Chill Out. Good work!
    Peace,

Is it odd....yes, is that good....hell yes. It's like a dream-like state where you know and understand exactly what's going on but you have no control over the narrative. Sweet work, mate.

Yes, it is a bit odd, as you say. Thank goodness for that. It is uniquely you and I enjoyed listening to it, and your description of the music really fits. It's longish and doesn't feel super structured (although it might be more structured than I realize) -- I think this would work best in a dreamy environment, like in a soundtrack for an Amsterdam coffee house, for example, or on a stargazing night out in the high desert around Joshua Tree.

You are welcome Rita - apart from the orchestra there is loads of interesting sounds and vst instruments free on Spitfire - be sure to check out decent sampler too - loads of sampled instruments and sounds, voices, etc many many available free - you can read about using it here - personally I dont have native instruments hardwas and just use free versions of some of their software but with a registered version of Kontakt there is even more options if not the decent sampler still opens a world of stuff.

Yes thats very true and the majority of folk on here will give you good honest opinion on your stuff and sometimes offer valued advice it has helped myself a lot since the year i have been here.
When i first found this site i had no clue about producing i know how to play a cpl of instruments but that was it but slowly month by month folks on here started giving me some advise and well sometimes i make a decent tune and sometimes i dont but its fun which is the main thing and its something new to learn. Anyway from what i have heard and read you have a decent grasp of what your doing just keep doing your thing man :)

    Hey Rita

I like the Timpani drum from Spitfire as part of the BBC Symphony Orchestra - the other Spitfire labs vst instruments are great too if you dont know them FREE!! The BBC symphony is not free but they have (many had) a deal where if you fill in the survey you can get it for free - A whole orchestra!

Check out Decent Sampler too (a spin off from the same folk)

Thanks for commenting - it's really nice to hear what other people think (good or, as long as it's constructive, not so good) Kind of slow and hard to know on your own (personally speaking) if something is working or not so great to have a community to bounce things by.

So I deleted a private link and decided to upload this track here. The quest was to catch the old-school vibe of detectives of the 50s-60s in the track\loop for 30-40 seconds.
Any way job was done. It is recorded fully live on real instruments, about 3 hours of composing and recording.
