Many might be surprised to hear music here that lies somewhere between chanson and folk.
We wanted to write a song that wasn't dominated by synth or electric sounds. The text was written by Claudia Boekels, the music largely by Angelica Schwanitz and to a lesser extent by Manuela Boekels.
We were especially looking forward to the wonderful collaboration with Tanja Wirtz, who has great talent on the accordion, and Danior, who can make his violin cry.

Description : Kindofa '60s work song. Another song from my collab with Sunny War. This is the first song on our album HELP which we should get done this month. This song started with looperman-l-0498019-0072501-tumbleweed-90-g-slow-train-rhythm, a great rhythm guitar riff; the song just emerged out of it without effort. Props to Tumbleweed and his great guitar loops which I have often used. Then there were three other loops, drum, piano and lead guitar. Sunny replaced the guitar loops with her acoustic picking, using Tumbleweed's loop as the inspiration. Description : Totally different story here as I wondered if I manage to capture the real feel of the genuine folk music which I love as much as the electronic one. wenn man immer nur die aktuellen Tracks hoert, gehen die so vielen vorherigen alle irgendwie "verloren".
Hin und wieder hoere ich dann mal hier in der Vergangenheit quer, weil es natuerlich immer mal wieder ein Lied gibt, welches mich spontan (und nur in einem solchen Fall kommentiere ich dann auch ueberhaupt) anspricht.
Ich muss einraeumen, dass es die Stimme war, die hier auf Anhieb auf mich gewirkt hat. Wunderschoen! Ich habe mich dann auf die Suche nach "Ratsouk" begeben und sie dann auch bei den Acapellas gefunden und natuerlich auch "Silver On Fire".
Du hast ihrem Original-Silver-On-Fire, ihrer Stimme in Deiner musikalischen Umsetzung eine beeindruckende Ausdrucksverstaerkung gegeben, der sich zu entziehen - jedenfalls mir - an sich kaum moeglich ist. Das finde ich deshalb bemerkenswert, weil die Adaption fremder Originale in aller Regel immer ein Suendenfall ist.
Ratsouks Stimme erinnert mich - gerade in den hoeheren Tonlagen - an Esther Ofarim, im damaligen Duett mit Abi Ofarim eine absolute kuenstlerische Ausnahmestimme an Schoenheit.
Dass Dein Lied hier nur 2 Downloads hat und bisher nicht einen einzigen Kommentar, ist mir einigermassen unerklaerlich. Dies ist dann doch recht unverhaeltnismaessig. Tja, Raetsel des Lebens halt...
