Description : As close to adult contemporary, soft rock as CBC is ever going to get. The vocals are from a vocal pack I've had since forever. The key is Eb melodic minor with a chord interchange for the bridge. There's shifting thirds in the chord progression which I emphasized by running a separate track of just thirds so it would stand out. I had some difficulty with abrasive frequencies from the lead guitar. Mixing this was a bit of a bear because of that.

There's a lot to like here, but at the same time, I think you took the theme of the "shifting thirds" a bit too far - for my ears at leat - but then again, the first time I heard Strawinsky I also wasn't convinced at once, so what do I know ;)

I hope you don't mind - and feel free to mutter something under your breath like "ah that old fool doesnt know what he's talking about". I like it as an experiment; I love the first minute; I think it would be better without the vocals, or different vocals.

These thirds, as you probably know, we usually expect them to fit in one of the musical "modes". If you follow for instance the Dorian or Aeolian mode, then the thirds are more or less defined for each chord; as long as you follow that, the chords sound "logical" to our ears and we know what to expect. By going outside that, you create "weirdness", and some confusion in our brain.

Which can be really good, and I do like the atmosphere of the song. The intro is fantastic and promising, but somewhere around the vocals it's too much for my tiny brain, so I think it would be better without the vocals.

I typed the above really carefully; please consider it constructive criticism. Also, feel free to completely ignore it. You do great stuff and it's really good you're exploring all this instead of sticking with one thing :) Kudos!

Despite the atmosphere of the music being a bit Gothic, the female voice makes a very interesting song, making the atmosphere of the sound very pleasant.
I really liked the final result. Kick's transition in the last part was a pretty cool catch.

Don't get any closer to adult contemporary, stay in this ballpark, please, this is too cool! The guitar thirds are great and so different that is makes you want to listen again to hear a little closer what you're doing.

I was watching a Norman's Rare Guitars you tube upload the other day(which I recommend) and Lemmo said he tuned the higher octave strings on a Rick 12 string electric git to 3rds and 5ths. I thought that would be fun to try but I don't own a 12 string. You're track is a variation on that in someway on guitar, interesting.

I had a twelve string about 8 thousand years ago. Someone gave it to me as a trade for a Chevy van that didn't run. At least the guitar took up less space. I don't remember what happened to the guitar. I probably sold it in a yard sale. I still have a Les Paul. I like Les Pauls because it's what the Brits played. Jimmy Page, Mick Ronson, Marc Bolan, they all played Les Pauls. Thanks for listening to my track. I appreciate it.

I think more pop than rock but it's my opinion ..goow and original work

    Reply by ClickbaitCabaret

This beat could fit into pop. This has two distorted guitar tracks, a pretty straight forward rock beat & muse band for it was Mazzy Star, so I went with rock. The lines between soft rock & pop are pretty blurry. Thanks for listening.

Description : I wrote this song some time ago when I was living in Florida. It's even more true today.

Vocals by Arthur Granquist, guitar by the great Kevin Lysen, drums by Marc Karmatz, also the recording engineer.

The idea musically was to take some rock and some bluegrass elements, mash 'em up and see what happened.

Every day is a struggle to do better in a crazy world.

Description : This is my newest creation, at a stage very near to completion. No third-party mastering or mixing, as with all my tracks. Just have to fix a few tiny things. I FINALLY WAS ABLE TO MIX EVERYTHING IN THE SAME SESSION. This song has all human-played instruments - no quantization or MIDI! My brother does all the vocals except for the interlude part, which I do. My other brother plays the rhythm guitar (a Gibson Les Paul Custom - only one of 12 in the world!!) and I play the accompanying guitar (a Johnny Mar Jag and PRS). He has a lot of guitars :P A good friend of ours, Ronnie, plays the bass and another friend, Freddie, plays the drums. The drum track was done in one take (had to use an electric drum set due to time constraints - but acoustic kits are so much better). Overall, pretty satisfied with the result. Let me know your thoughts.

This song was supposed to be a Bedlam Kids track, but due to the low (none) interest of Pete on continuing that project, I'll upload the remaining tracks as instrumentals as soon as I can.

For now, here's a song written almost 7 months ago, it's called Simple Things.

Hope you enjoy it!!!
