Regarding Mr. Nomad, yep, he did give good advice. He would comment on my stuff, too. His unabridged honesty was good for improvement. That's for sure. He definitely pushed me to do better. Unfortunately, the dick quit the music scene altogether. (I call him that with love). Every now and then I try to convince him to try again, but he's adamant about it.
Sound effects are good, yes. A lot of times, I use them in places that you don't really hear them, but without them...you would just KNOW that something is missing. I've never been very skilled at additional percussion beyond the basic kit. Sometimes, I don't even utilize the full thing. I should probably discipline myself a little more in that area.
Anyhow, enough rambling. Take care, Steve.

Hey Aaron. I learned about percussion and SFX by listening to Dub mixes from the eighties 12-inch singles. I am a fan of Roxy Music, and Eno, so I also have an appreciation for arrangements with many many tracks. And those tracks combine musically to give the listener another sound that they think would be one track. That is my secret. Don tell anyone ;-)

Cool man, nice journey you took me on. I hear Pink Floyd in this, the way it built up and sustained that echo'ed reverb'ed guitar. There is a 70's feel to it in a funk or dance approach. Lots to take in, that means a big production, great arrangement and plenty of dynamics.

    This works for me!

Cool Wayne, I had not thought of this song like that, but I can see what you mean.

Man, that riff is something that sticks in your head, but in a very pleasant way. The guitars really gave off a dreamy image. The kick brought a very cool energy to the climax.

    I loved it!

I like to hear songs that are longer than 3 min (apparently youtube made it the 50s again with song structure). Excellent work, went lot's of places, well mixed, not afraid to turn it up.

Damn, man. I think this is, in my opinion, the best track you've put up in a long time. At least of the ones I've heard. I've been MIA for a while so, I may have missed, ya know, just a few.

I like how this is an eclectic mix of sounds, but everything is exactly as it should be. The mix of keys, guitars, and digital synths/effects.

The guitar and keys are an almost dream like ethereal sound, where the digital effects and background percussion gives it a little bit of an edge.

The kick is perfect. it's got a good low end punch and still retains the high end snap. Perfectly balanced to give the track it's forward momentum, and still cut through the higher frequencies to be heard, without being in the way.

You mentioned Static, in one of your earlier replies, this one kind of has a bit of his sound. At least the effects you used on the guitars. These are a little more "wet" than his, but the way it progresses and has that, as he would put it, "Far out groove", it's got just a touch of Nomad to it. All you need is another half an hour to the duration. HA!

Overall, Steve, excellent work. As always.
    Take care.

Aaron, my man. Thank you so much for the nice words and encouragement. Funny you should mention Mr. Static Nomad. I was thinking just the other day how he made such a difference in his critical but spot-on comments on my earlier music. I was very wild and very experimental in my earlier loop days. His advice has allowed me to understand and progress to this point that you hear now. I just finished making an acid-house album and I was burning off some creative talent experimenting with Pads and subtle guitar treatments. this is the end result of about 5 songs into that. The Engineering side of the music is just as important as the creative side in getting your sounds properly across to the listener. He really was the master at making a 15-minute song flow and ebb to keep you captivated. I cannot do that yet (or ever) but I can do ¨this¨ now. I put a strong emphasis on making my kicks and bass sounds feel proper and strong in the mix. I also use a lot of Asymmetrical pongs to create depth. I believe you need SFX and percussion to move the sounds and song structure along. I have learned much, and I appreciate your 2 cents mate.

    Hello crucethus,
I've been off LM for a while. The first track I heard is this one.
I loved the build up to 2:40 when you added a new demension and a another at 4:00 with the climax at 4:50 with the cool down at 5:40 the rest of the way out.
I didn't think I was going to listen to a track that was 6 min 16 sec long but,it was very soothing and captivating.
This track is classic Chill Out. Great Job excellent track.

Thanks, Mate, Welcome back. My goal is to always captivate the listener. We had an artist on here years ago named Static Nomad who could captivate you for 15 minutes of his masterpiece songs. His work is still archived here and I think you would like it. Music for Musics sake. His and My mantra.
    Thanks So much.

Description : Many of you know well that Tumbleweed & Orlando collabs are pretty much well established tradition within LM society by now, and here is the newest example to reinforce that tradition. It's probably the last this year (yet never take it for granted) and I think it has (although not particularly intended) a bit of that seasonal celebrative nature, thus fitting quite well into this festive feel of December. Despite providing it's share of melancholic tones (you can bet who is responsible...haha...) it's a quite happy tune overall...and it doesn't bite, so you're all most welcome to listen and comment !... As always my sincere thanks to Ed !

Description : The spring is in full motion over here and I guess it helped me quite a bit to complete my part of the job on yet another exciting collab with maestro Tumbleweed. Most of our collab works contain at least some aspect which demonstrates something out of ordinary one or another way. This time we got a peculiar combination of mysticism and merciless attacks of soapiness (my bad....haha)....So let's listen to hear whether I'm right or not!....:) As always on such occasions, all my thanks to Ed !
