Hello Micky
another great song with excellent vocals and fantastic musicians. It is groovy and exciting, it is well made and produced. It is a song to reach the proper audience to be a hit. You deserve a bravo !
My best wishes, Anthony
Micky, a quick note. I’ve got hours of Farley Jackmaster Funk. Steve Hurleys Jack your Body that you’ve mentioned. I’ll see if I can convert the tape and if you like send some files. Back then on Saturday night you just hit record and you would get hours of the finest house and from the early origin’s! Thanks for taking me back!
Really very nice of you to offer that to me ... oh yes, getting some of your original recordings from the period would be a great thing. If it doesn't cause you too much trouble to convert it I would be very interested (yep, the good old tapes). I've always thought about continuing that old style somehow, with a little more modern twist maybe... and I still hear the influences in current tracks... Jack seems to have come to stay.
Micky, let me start by saying this is an wonderful honor to your wife. The bounce produced by that 4 on the floor is infectious! Then your vocals come on in with all of that power….. hats off! Ok this takes me back to the Chicago house era of the 80! Micky this was an excellent listen. Thanks for sharing your talent.
Hello Mark, when you make a song for the love of your life, the motivation boost is enormous - at least that's what happened to me. I am very happy that something of this energy jumped over to you. Also, I'm glad you mentioned Chicago House. Oh man, I'm a real fan of that. I was already a cover designer in the late 80's and the label we worked for back then wanted to release almost the entire Chicago House portfolio here in Germany. As graphic artists, we then received all of these original records as samples, as sound templates for our work, so to speak. Yes, and that's how I got to know and love this genre. You know: Jack Your Body, Can You Feel It and so on. I just like how reduced it often comes across and yet is very effective. There is also something spiritual about it, if I could only get it.
By the way, I don't want to go unmentioned that I played the bass and guitar "by hand" in the traditional way (cough).
I'm so glad you checked it out and commented so encouragingly.
I post a lot of covers here, one every couple months. I've never needed any special permission from the artist. Bands everywhere play covers without permission. I produce all the tracks myself, there's never any using of original material and it's never made with any intent to make money off it.
I make non commercial music and willing to give it out for free. They get taken down after a couple months usually to free up track space. Shan agrees with that but it must be our own work. Never had an issue.
I'm Your Boogie Man. I've decided the track I'm gonna do, now to get going on it, ooooh boy!
Hi Wayne,
well, two years ago I checked with Looperman and they replied "covers only if you got permission". I think I'm just too honest. Funny, although I'm actually as subversive as can be and have a lot of criminal energy. All right: on your own responsibility ;) ... then I'll dare my cover versions. By the way: I'm Your Boogie Man is an excellent choice. There's a "dance part" in the middle, just the rhythm section with guitar (timelessly good) - I've sampled that before and made a track of it. Listening to Jerome Smith inspired me to buy a Telecaster. He was one of my absolute guitar heroes!
Yea buddy bring the disconess back my friend. You Put some magic with this one it started out so cool and you transition to a funky dance vibe. Great synth works. Cool vocals
I've been thinking for a long while about doing a K.C. and the Sunshine Band song. Still haven't decided which song and how I'm gonna produce it but after listening to this song, it really inspired me to get off my arse and get going on it.
You captured the 70's feeling exactly. Once I heard the drums come in I was hooked. So many cool bits to appreciate, I love the sounds, are they from a loop pack or are you producing them yourself?
I am sure your wife loved it, just look at the response it got here!
Hello Wayne,
oh man, KC have always been one of my absolute favorites!
I've been meaning to cover "I Get Lifted" for a long time, at least I think it's more of a possibility than say "Get Down Tonight" - impossible to cover let alone improve on - it's just perfect the way it is! But I wouldn't dare without official permission. My experience so far has been that it's super hard to get official permission to do a cover if you want to do it non-commercially, just for fun. So I better save myself the trouble...
Thanks for the nice comment,
Micky
wow man...you are so pro in every asset....great mix..great track...great effects....great vocs....a feel good track....as i said before....your number one producer here...cheers...and thx for sharing
Hey there Terry ... pretty flattering. I really love making music, but there's never enough time to do as much as I'd like to. I have so much other stuff to do that I can only produce at a snail's pace, which really annoys me, but what can you do. THX for listening ... Cheerio
Oh my, that bassline was so Penthouse and Pavement (heaven 17). White boy funk (era tag)! So many good things going on in this one. nice Phased Pad. Catchy Chorus! Good solid tune mate!
Believe it or not, I've been trying unsuccessfully to get permission for a (non-commercial) cover version of (WE DON'T NEED THIS) FASCIST GROOVE THANG from their company for years...
This track is super clean, sharp & classy,
If this track didn't get you extra points
with the Wife, I don't know what will.
The writing, Vocals, Bass and arrangement are
off the charts good.
Hey there Musicsavant!
Thank you for listening. I'm so glad you liked it. Actually, I had already stored this track from two years ago in the basement and almost forgot it there. Somehow you discovered it and that brought it back to my memory. So I said to myself why not do the mix again and polish it up a bit here and there. Thanks for the support!
Warm greetings,
Micky
How many months faithfully did your wife bring you your slippers and have the bath water ready. lol. That's a beautiful thing to do for someone that close to you. Vocal magic as usual. Great mix. PEACE. T576 OUT.
Again, another very impressive track, Michael. A great gift for you wife. (My wife hates my music, but perhaps if it was as good as your's she'd have a different opinion! Anyway, I bopped in my chair all the way through the track. Infectious! Great guitar work. You clearly have a talent for making this genre of music.
Me and my honey danced the whole time...this was a groovy listen. Only critique , I would trim it up a little on the front and add some more harmony towards the end to diversify from the rest of the chorus. Thanks for the jam
Franchement, Je trouve ta chanson super bien faite !! Ta femme doit etre contente. En tout cas moi je suis content d'écouter une musique aussi bien faite. Super travail
WOW! what an AMAZINGGGG! uplifting track this is. I love the sound of this, I'm sure your wife will love it very much also. The vocals are GREAT! the mix is sharp! and clean, everything meshes so well. Fantastic!! groovy! and a fave from me. Kudos! :)

Description : R&B track inspired by Brody Brown's work on Bruno Mars' new album. Brown would be entirely unimpressed by this track, of course. He's a really fine musician. I've left the electric piano lines that are meant for vocal parts in the track. If ever I found a lyricist and and singer that could do something with this track, I'd produce a backing track version without those parts. Lots of room for a good singer to build on the melody ideas and make it their own.
Description : UPDATED better reverb and warmer studio sound
hi guys, my vocal again on another of Morash' tracks, R&B Hip-Hop. its very delicate, it is a protest song of sort
