Description : My salute to James Jamerson, one of the most influential bass players in modern music, he played unaccredited on dozens and dozens of Motown number one hits and as a kid I loved that music and still do. The secret to JJ's tone is quite simple, a Fender Precision bass, flatwound strings and a foam mute.....and last but not least learning how to play with feel.

Joe, first let me say I am so sorry for your loss and I apologize for being late to acknowledge it. This piece truly does speak to the heart, as does all of your music. The thing I always appreciate about you is how you are true to who you are with everything you write. This is another exceptional song, but I expect nothing less from you. Beautifully performed, Joe. I'm sure your brother would be proud. Again, my condolences in this very difficult time for you and your family. Take care and hang in there, it does get better.

Wow!! Gives me a Daft Punk x The Weeknd type of vibe! Would fit perfect in a James Bond mafia style movie.... I'm sorry about your brother too man! Hope you'll be okay and don't worry man, when God takes away, he brings even more than what you lost so hang in there man!
Hi Joe!
Sorry for your brother. Cancer is a terrible illness - i had a few loss in my family too because it and can only hope i will dodge it in my life (as far as i know, hungary is world leader in death rate by cancer).
The tune is great, i'm sure your brother would like it, too.

Hey Joe, sorry to hear about your loss,I hope you have friends and family to help get you through as Im sure you will do for them. A beautiful track none the less with echoes of the late great Marvin Gaye. Very soulful and well produced, thanks for sharing.
Oh gosh... i have recently came back on this site, it pains me a lot to know about your serious loss. I'm very sorry, I offer my condolences. What can i say, that others didn't yet... stay up, keep to be Funkstastic as usual.
Great to see you bouncing back with music making brother Joe! You've been through a lot and it's nice to see the looper support.
Groovy track, dig the bongos man! Terrific track, modern and timeless!
Take care Joe!

Great track Joe,for some reason I can hear Ross on this track..outstanding.
My sympathies my brother. A loss as great as a sibling is very difficult to process sometimes. But you have channeled your grief in a way that honors his life and can also bring you some solace. Peace be with your family. This tune just reflects for me, pardon me if I dont find the exact words. This is a raw stripped down honest nakedly gritty sound that I have been waiting to hear from you for almost 8 years. Its melancholy and yet has a sense of survival. I love this tune from you. I can feel your soul reaching out into the void but not in a desperate way, but with a purpose and a stoicism. You used your talent not in a contrived way or a way to please the masses, but in an original expressive way that dignifies your talent and courage and love you had for your family and ultimately your brother. I am speechless.
Deepest respect
Cru
Hi Joe, I'm really glad you're back and listening to your music that speaks directly to the heart. It's my way to be close to you in this hard time. Sometimes life seems unfair and terrible when we lose a loved one and everyday things seem unimportant to us. I hope you feel my friendship and that this is somehow comforting to you.
Your friend
Marco

I like everything about this track. Flawless.
Sorry to hear that...what better way to overcome grief than creative expression. This is an amazing piece of music, awesome work.
Hey Joe....so sorry for your loss mate, I know only too well what it feels like. Great tune with a very deep soulful feeling and groove, all we can do is carry on and be respectful towards the memory of the dearly departed, they live on through us, your brother no doubt would love this....cheers Dave
First sorry for your loss. I come from a large family and I can say, I've been to too many funerals. All energy lives forever; so someday you'll share the cosmos with him and all whom you've Loved. This piece was awesome. Had a
cool vibe. Keep em' comin' JoeFunktastic Peace DDC
agreed with Heath...absolute fantastic piece of sadness here...maaan, it's like when you say goodbye to someone who's been with you...LIKE A SOLDERING...FREE MUSIC FOR THE SOULS...amazing...I feel compassion for you ... more and more losses and not only because we are getting older ... we live in a polluted world ...I'm really sorry for our kids ...
handshake, Danke
Amazing track. The drums and bass are incredibly solid. The super reverby lead is a perfect fit. The flute is a nice touch as well. It reminds me of 60s/70s psychedelic rock but with more groove. This doesn't need vocals. It speaks for itself.
