a nother guitar player with a very different setup is scot lucas he plays guitar and bass at same time his guitar has 2 ouput jacks one is the guitar going to the guitar stack other out put connects to a bass pick up in middle of guitar covering top 5 strings and plugs into bass amp uses a switch pedal to go back in forth between to this being why his 2 man band sounds like so much more

in reference to the distortion comment sound to replicate jimmy Hendrix jimmy uses a 0.022 sound cap instead of little standard one solderd to his sound pot giving more feedback with a very small transictor solderd to his volume pot to control feed back then there is the other jimmy jimmy page who also uses a sound papper oil compacitor and bleed its a sound a standard guitar cant replicate I have a guitar with this setup I pull it out now and then but joe did awesome job here im very impressed

Really a nice Track Joe. The only quibble for me is that true Jimmy did not have that much distortion on his guitar. You might want to dial it back a little.
If you are looking for a dead match. Yes it does sound great.
No picking on you or it.

Who is playing the rhythm guitar?

    Reply by JoeFunktastic

I know. the distortion amps were my touch. When you do a cover you decide the feel and sound. Another guy mention that there is a reggae cover this out there too. I had indicated that I was going for a grungy feel in my genre selection. Not Rock, Reggae, Punk, or Metal. Search Youtube and watch how many interpretations you find. you will be amazed. Thanks for pointing that out. I appreciate the review. Joe

    Hello Joe!

Guitars are sharp as knife, snare is like the gun...as it should (could) be...like the varied drum work and a bit Nirvana feel, despite the fact that this is an old time classic from somebody who made all things...:-)

thanx for the upload, your work is humble but fresh...

    handshake, Danke

    Hey Danke!

Thanks my good friend. I am just trying to pay homage to a great musician that has inspired me throughout the course of my life. I appreciate the review so much!

Sure! I can send you a stripped down version for you to play to. Send me a private message with your email! Thanks! That would be awesome. We'll post in your accounts after that.

Smooth, solid, sounds like Jimmy to me. Totally pro production. My only gripe is that it is a little repetitive, but I think that's because it's crying out for some vocals. Hard part would be finding someone who could do this justice.

    Reply by JoeFunktastic

I know, the original track is repetitive. It would have been extremely disrespectful to modify that. I would have lost the cover status if I messed with it But yes, vocals would have saved the day. Hey, I appreciate the listen bro. We are all trying to get to that music utopia. Cheers!

Sounds great Joe! This song and the Wind Cries Mary are my fav Jimi songs.

The guitar sounds cool. Great job if it's midi and if it's live playing even better, ;)!

Hang in there buddy, music is a great cure for all that ails you!!

    Take care!

Well, Jimi usually helps me get over anything when I need music. I love paying homage and respect to great man, pioneer, and musician that many musicians and people, in general, have been inspired by. Just having fun here Wayne. Thanks my friend.

Thanks for the listen and review!

Love Jimi. Good track, maybe tweak the drums in the mix so they are little harder hitting? Other than that I enjoyed this.

    Reply by JoeFunktastic

Yo TV! Thanks so much! I thought about what you mention bro. My only problem is back then compression and drums were not too popular on songs of that era. Drums to music are a very delicate balancing act. One has to be mindful of the frequency spectrum that drums can occupy. I also tried to ensure that the main mixer levels did not exceed -3dB's. So I found if I went any harder on the drums, collisions and unnatural sounds would occur on my other instruments even though I had many busses panned. I appreciate it my friend.

Oh yes love a bit of Jimmy!! Top class work here sir! Interestingly Grunge! It really does have that grunge feel, and the guitar work is excellent! Very well done to you!

One of my hidden sides is to Rock hard SP. I always try to pay homage to a great musician. I just do accept the theory of how he died. Jimi has done more for music than many others have done for there own careers. I appreciate the listen and review.

CAP! Luv you bro! Both you and I are breaking down the stereotypes on races for what genres we are supposed to be in. You obviously a brilliant and talented musician and hip-hop/rap artist. I am from the old school and I have a profound appreciation of music from any era as long as it is good such as your music. We are all trying to get that music spot of greatness bro! Thanks for the listen.

Ahh I love this song. My fav version is from Black Uruhu in that smooth reggae style. But you kill it here in a nineties post grunge sort of rock style. Awesome work!

    Reply by JoeFunktastic

Giving it that Joe Funktatsic spin bro! I often think of Jimi and if he lived on what would his legacy and life be now. In his short life, he achieved greatness that few of us will ever know.

    I appreciate the listen bro!

Hey Joe, how's it going my brother. Is this live recording? I can't tell sometimes with all the new software out in the market. If this is software, you sure fooled me. This sounds so good, but what's also good is the song choice. I love Jimi Hendrix music, and you, my friend, have done justice by paying homage to his legacy. Great stuff Joe, you have my respect and support. Also, thank you for taking time to listen to my track. I am thrilled you enjoyed it and I appreciate the kind words. Until next time :)
