I've truly never heard musics from this genre but the many comments aroused my interest and I did not regret it...although I have no idea about this style I'm sure the catchy melody won this song for me...and the progressivity...

Hi Alien, really good vibes from the track. If there is one thing I would change it's the snare sound which is not powerful enough in my opinion.

Well, Alien. I did like the track. Was uplifting for sure. I liked the chord progression you used and you had lots of nice layers weaving in and weaving out. That being said, there were two things that I didn't like as much. If we had been collaborating on the track (which we weren't, of course) I would have suggested that you experiment with a couple of options.

First, the drum track sounds, particularly the snare sound which I think was layered with a tambourine sound. I would have liked to hear the track with a deeper pitched sound. And, I think the level was a bit too high in the mix. That's personal taste, of course. I tend prefer mixes where the drums/percussion sound is not the most dominant feature.

Second, the sound used for the melody line. That sounded like it was probably a synth brass sound with a short sustain and decay on the envelope. Again, I'd have experimented with a different sound, or perhaps layering a second and even a third synth patch at points to give it more variation.

One option might have been to fade that melody line further back in the mix at some point and then bring an overlay melody line that used more sustained notes using a different sound, effectively using the main melody line as an arpeggiated background.

Again, all of this is a question of person taste I realize. I did like the track and it definitely succeeded in evoking the emotion you were going for, which is the point of it all. Right?

Eric, I would be glad I you want to collaborate with me. ;)

    Hello Alien,

really good track here, the old school touch is really appreciate! may be i will add some reverb on the synth to give it more presence / volume :)

the beat is well heavy, and if you want to accentuate the old school approach, you can add a clap, typical from the 90's :)

really good work, congratulations for this song!

Description : After a major uphill battle completing this song and turning it into what it is now, I feel some amount of satisfaction. It was like reality wanted me to give up or something. It's done... phew... Have updated this almost completely, from repatching the modular bass, playing some guitar parts, adding electric piano and synth lead, redoing and tuning the DW-6000 synth, of course adding my vocals, and mixing and mastering. It really has become pretty new wave, like much of my stuff does recently. Have added the lyrics as well. I am proud and happy with it, and I hope you all enjoy listening! UPDATE... woohoo just broke 1000 plays on this track here at looperman!
***original description***
Hey finally here with a new track! I'm not sure what to call this other than electronic, due to the high tempo. This is the first song finished using my interface which allows direct MIDI control of my modular synthesizer. The mid frequency bass part is all from that patch. There are tracks designed with my Zoom RT-123 drum machine, the microkorg, and the circuit bent KORG DW-6000. Other than that it is just a kick and snare drum sample, and a a quick vocal snippet. So I guess it's fairly minimal in that respect. Would like to hear the Looperman community's thoughts on this song! Thank you for listening

Description : Just like the first EP "OGOU", this production focuses on organic elements with drum samples. It contains modern sounds such electronic down-tempo, future bass, and hip-hop, which makes the music sound old and new at the same time. With heavy sampling of African chants and sound generated from other tribes, this is production will bring more flavor and enjoyment--it's like Africa to your Ears.

Description : The answer to Close Encounters is Hymn Of The Pleiades. This is a strictly groove track where the elements of ambient meets electronic funk and Hip Hop. Track was recorded, mixed and mastered using Mixcraft Pro Studio 6 software. Results were achieved by using a FATA Studio 90 MIDI keyboard ran through a E-MU Proteus 2000 sound module, - for the phat funky bass synth. I also used a KORG O5R/W sound module for the retro lead synth parts and ambient sound pads.
I utilized what was essentially a old school Hip Hop drum track, arranged and beefed it up for that extra umh! I greatly appreciate all the positive feedback the track has garnered thus far. Keep listening and by all means, your comments are much welcomed... thanks.

Description : The wild warrior.
In a mysterious chilling EBM mix.
In this unusual song I didn't use loops, only VST's.
The total wacky WHOOO, for the Jungle alarm flute. It really has a totally funky interface.
Then even the Revolta2, Tethys2 and MT Powerdrumkit2.
And underneath, sounds from Robotar.
Mixed with Spinner and KeroVee and some more FX stuff.
And on top of it a little singing, by myself.
Again the question arises.
What is the name of this style or genre?
But more important, of course, is that you like it.
Comments are sure welcome.
Enjoy the music and dance like a wild warrior
