Description : Jim added a clean Fender Tele track and some thicker sounds with a custom ES-339 Pro(Epiphone) semi-hollow bodied. Both were mic’ed using my Fender DeVille. I added the bass, the acoustic guitar, the singing and a bit of keys. Jim helped out with the drums and the guitar arrangements. The song... the Drive By Truckers do a song, Guns of Umpqua that inspired this one being written, same subject matter. In America we’ve averaged a mass shooting every day this year. It needs to stop. Now. I hope none of us ever have to get caught up in any of that. Peace.

    Hi Wayne,

I think this one is a perfect example how you two guys work really well together. Very convincing stuff with raw feel that I like alot and with some really good playing and excellent vocals. Instant fav !!

Big compliments to both of you_____Leon

Reply by theHumps Thanks Leon! Yeah, we've got to get some rockabilly up here, man can he play!

Mixing is slowly getting better. Over the last few months I've been listening/watching yt vids by Green Day "American Idiot" and the Sheepdogs "Downtown" a lot. Where they panned the guitars and other instruments, how narrow they were in the mix, how the vocals sat in the mix were things I payed close attention to and are things I was trying to improve on.

    Take care, happy holidays!

Yeah, your vocal is so cool...fits well with this kinda retro rock...guitar work is amazing as usual and the whole song is raw...on a good way of course...

    handshake with my fav, Danke

Reply by theHumps Thanks man! I'm not much of a singer so Jim's guitar hides a lot of the bad stuff. :)

I just tried uploading a new version 3 times(having some issues with the site). I just made some adjustments on the master track making it a little louder and a bit punchier.

    Take care!

    Hello Wayne,
Wow mate you and Jimbo making a wonderful music as a duo.

Reply by theHumps Thanks jamid for the nice comments! Jim adds a level of guitar playing I cannot accomplish so his talent raises the bar for my songs in that regard. We look at music similarly, we appreciate the same artists and like the same music. He "gets" music. It's easy to work with somebody like that plus he's a pretty nice guy which makes it fun at the same time.

    Take care!

    Wayne

Dim the lights and stay down low
I will tell you where to go
Bullets flying high and low
There is where we’ve got to go

What goes around comes around
Keep an eye out for the man
Do we even have a plan?

Mayhem, bedlam on the streets
We don’t know which way to run
Help me

The screaming, yelling’s just begun
With all the frightened looks on everyone
You’re just gonna have to get away

From the man but somebody’s firing back
Which side is he on?
Bullets fly on past my head
And I hit the ground, I hit the ground

Description : This is my newest creation, at a stage very near to completion. No third-party mastering or mixing, as with all my tracks. Just have to fix a few tiny things. I FINALLY WAS ABLE TO MIX EVERYTHING IN THE SAME SESSION. This song has all human-played instruments - no quantization or MIDI! My brother does all the vocals except for the interlude part, which I do. My other brother plays the rhythm guitar (a Gibson Les Paul Custom - only one of 12 in the world!!) and I play the accompanying guitar (a Johnny Mar Jag and PRS). He has a lot of guitars :P A good friend of ours, Ronnie, plays the bass and another friend, Freddie, plays the drums. The drum track was done in one take (had to use an electric drum set due to time constraints - but acoustic kits are so much better). Overall, pretty satisfied with the result. Let me know your thoughts.

Description : Almost punk like creation from the old days of The Kyudars Band! Re-recorded only recently in live fashion. All played with real instruments(me on bass guitar). Just don't bother the silly lyrics. ;))

Description : EDIT: Changed intro based on suggestion by StaticNomad, major revamp on drum track as again suggested by StaticNomad and reprised the metal guitar section as the outro based on Valvedriver and Danke suggestions and overall interest by those who commented.
Big thanks guys for your expert advice and opinions here. I really think it improved the track and showed me just how much it pays to listen and apply some of the things that are offered up in these reviews.
**Second Edit - Adjusted levels and mastered.
***Third Edit - Toned down #2 Crash Cymbal per Crucethus Suggestion

Description : Hello Loopies!!!

This song was supposed to be a Bedlam Kids track, but due to the low (none) interest of Pete on continuing that project, I'll upload the remaining tracks as instrumentals as soon as I can.

For now, here's a song written almost 7 months ago, it's called Simple Things.

Hope you enjoy it!!!

XpekT.

Description : So I had a guitar lick for years that I never did anything with. I was going to try to write a country song with it, instead it turned into kind of retro rock track. I am pretty happy with the end result, I think it turned out better than my initial idea. I sang and played all of the instruments on the track. The drums are from Ez Drummer, which is awesome in my opinion. Thanks for listening, if you like the track please feel free to download.

Description : BIG UPDATE 26/02/2014 - So, this was an 18 min track that I have now successfully split in two. 2nd half I uploaded a few weeks ago (Things That Should Always Be, with the bouncy 2 min reggae intro). This is the first half, which has a new mix, a mega chill, meditative ending and a little jazz thrown in for good measure. Takes a few minutes for beat to really kick in. Constantly evolving electric guitar, bass guitar, acoustic drums and lead banjo driven by fat, busy 80BPM grooves with a bit of a reggae and shuffle feel. Also: synth choir voices, dulcimer, violin, cello, shimmering pads. Builds up gradually to nice and rocking and then gets taken back down for the big comedown chill. I really don't know what sort of genre this is except 'far out'. I think it sounds more like a live band than one guy playing instruments and manipulating a DAW. Not my best track but a bit of blissful, sunny island fun. Real positive vibe here so I hope you give it a chance to unfold and unfurl. Sit back, clear your schedule and immerse yourself in these trippy sonic experiments cooked up deep in my off-planet underground laboratory. I have to send the MP3 to Earth via space courier (not cheap).

Description : Unfinished track I'm working on, based off of Danke's "Black Roses" piano loop. Looking for a collab! I'm looking to go in a Rock meets Electronic or Dubstep direction, but I'm open to ideas. I have lyrics for a bridge, but it doesn't sound right with just a piano. I need amped up instrumentals. I really want to bring the pre-chorus ("everybody, c'mon, everybody") back at the end, but up an octave up in a belt with some heavy guitars possibly? I really want to amp up this song. Please excuse the piano in the chorus. It's not as beautiful as Danke's arrangement but I needed a change in chords. The song is in E minor by the way. Tempo=
Description : This track was inspired by a discussion at work. - Las Vegas has always been an onslaught of humanity. Even on its slowest days, the city is still crowded. And it goes twenty-four hours a day. Lights, sounds, movement. All of it is non-stop. - "Resident Evil - Extinction" presented a different look upon Glitter Gulch, a gambling tourist city that had been forgotten and wasted due to the end of times. - And that is what started our discussion at MORTradio. All of us here have visited Las Vegas, and have always enjoyed our time there. A lot of us here go back often. - One day, while we were embalming, all of us started talking about "end of the world" scenarios. We discussed other scenarios, such as ones like Matheson's "I am Legend", or Romero's living dead apocalypse, or Boyle's "28 Day/Weeks Later", or King's "The Stand", and we all started brainstorming as to how Las Vegas would stand if such a 'end-of-times' thing would actually happen. We agreed on this much. Whoever was trying to get out of Las Vegas, or get into it, would have to be straight forward and determined. That person would have to not think twice about leaving someone behind, or putting someone down. Seems kind of brutal, but it is the reality. - And so MORTradio came up with this track. - ROSINA DEAD VEGAS TREK was mixed on Magix Music Maker 2015, and was created using personal loops, as well as loops from the Looperman contributors that are listed below: - Chuckseabo - Hard Techno Bass
