Description : "This is a Public Service Announcement...WITH GUITARS!!" An opening line in one of my favorite bands songs and it helps describe this one perfectly. Bonus points if you know the band or particular song. I modeled the song after that band and this one hearkens back to the early days of punk. This was written by my brother Chris and I got a little help on guitars from my friend Jim. Fun lyrics and full of energy, this one is a fav of mine of all the songs my brother has written. I sing and play the bass and produced it. Got new monitors and a new interface, hopefully it sounds better than other mixes I've done. Final Update: Oct 2017 Remixed Enjoy!

Def has that buzzcocks clash feel to it my late uncle would of loved your music he was a punk till the end. Funny it was his old washburn bass that got me into playing bass so many yrs ago, I remember he used to have a 3d wall art pic of the stranglers rare pics made of plastic but the name stranglers came out the wall like 3d very rare picture these days another uncle has it now i think.

anyway coo tune brought back some cool fond memories

Vocals remind me of David Byrne from Talking Heads which is always a compliment and overall song is good, energetic, does what punk was supposed to do! Good job!

Hi Wayne, I stopped by this because it was labeled punk. Im glad I did, this is instantly early Clash/ Buzzcocks! You've captured it perfectly from the vocals to the early punk sounding rawness of the instruments. Very well done my friend.

there's intonations in your voice which look like Johnny Lydon.
musically, it remembers me Toy Dolls. no doubt punk is not dead thanks to people like you! really good work, i took pleasure to listen to your track!

    really appreciate :)

    Reply by theHumps

Thanks BLEEP! Yeah, I noticed the Johnny Rotten vocals when I did it. wasn't done on purpose, just happened. Found no reason to replace them because I liked them.

I'm not familiar with the band Toy Dolls, will have to check them out.

    yeaaaaa boy

this is like my teen years re lived

very Dead Kennedys vibe on this

Ebola Rock N Rolla! catchy shit dude

I'm going to show this to friend, he's punk to his bones

    Reply by theHumps

    Thanks LF!

It was meant to catch that whole vibe of early punk. The Dead Kennedys were certainly an influential band at that time. My brother wrote this so the credit really goes to him for the catchy title. He was thinking that "Zika in Topeka" would be a cool title for a follow up track, we'll see.

Thanks man, glad you liked it!

I'm not a big fan of punk, but I can definitely appreciate it's place in music history. Especially for what it brought and during the time it brought it.
That being said, it's cool as hell to see some punk on the loop! I've noticed that lately, there has been a few more genres showing back up other than Trap, Dubstep, Hip Hop, and RnB. So, I personally thank you for contributing to the broadening of Looperman's horizons once again, and with a track that embodies all of that which punk is.

    Take care.

Thanks man! Jaco Pastorius, great bass player, said to listen to all kinds of music whether you like it or not. If for anything, just to try learn something about it and take away something positive to incorporate it into your style.

I remember at that time there were lots of bands playing 10 minute guitar and drum solos, ballad rock was popular and punk was there to put an end to that. Disco was all the rage, ugg. lol It really changed the face of music and turned it upside down. As a young adult I was attracted to that and it influenced me immensely.

It's not everyone's choice of genre but I love it!

    great, great, great

I'm the fan of the live music but this is more than that...it's like when you plug in and play...doncare the tunes, the high, the middle, the bass, the reverb and so on...music from the blood...hats off and standing ovation...and your voice is perfect for this style...

    Reply by theHumps

Thanks! The vocals were put down as a rough draft when I arranged the song in Ableton. When I tried to put a better track down I couldn't capture the same energy that was in the original so I kept them. Even the backup vox are rough and not so in tune, like the last singing part of the song. I wanted it to sound rough and not perfect, like a drunken band practice. ;)

    Hi Wayne,

You always provide us with some rarities which are real refreshment for the Looperfamily and this time is no exception. LM lacks this sort of stuff, but thankfully we have your talent to fill those gaps at least a bit. I don't know the original band and I won't be guessing either although it reminds me a bit of Ramones (I know it's not them though).I wouldn't bother too much about production cause this is basic, raw energetic punk providing lots of fun and puts smiles on people's faces!

    Well done guys_____Orlando

    Reply by theHumps

Hey! Thanks man, good to see ya! I did another mix, hopefully it sounds better.

This one is all about attitude and not perfection. The band is the Clash, their first self entitled album that I tried to emulate here. The song I was referring to(but not on that album) is called "Know Your Rights"...all three of them, lol. This is garageband kind of music and I was trying to get that edgy raw sound. I was in college and this was the kind of music I was listening to.

    Hope all is well!

Definitely not my genre of music but this is good fun and I appreciate the energetic vibe and amusing lyrics. There certainly aren't many lyrics (so not hard to learn).

It's a great title that you can't really ignore.

The bass has a solid sound but the guitars are bit thin and weedy. Maybe that's what you were going for.

Drums are decent and do everything required of them.

Not a whole lot more to say than that except that seeing a track put under 'Punk' on Looperman is exceptionally rare.

    Reply by theHumps

Hey man! Yeah, the guitars are thin and crunchy, when I lowered the volume on the guitar group I turned up a few of the lower end freqs a bit. There is such a thin band of freqs in the guitar tracks. Should have used a different guitar and amp for each track to separate them more. Jim used a Fender Tele Squire and a Fender Bassbreaker amp or something like that. Slightly different setting on the rhythm and lead track.

Still working on my bass sound, my ears are shot but I like the new way of recording the bass. Guitar into amp, out the line output, into the Focusrite Saffire Pro 40, new interface. Bass is more punchy and bright, just afraid to let it loose in a mix but I'm working out the issues.

A 3 chord simple punk song, nothing complicated, just tried to capture the sound and energy back then.

Very fun track. Dont hear a lot of punk on LM so its a nice refreshment!
The vocals could be made a little bit fuller cause they sound a bit empty which is sad as your voice is pretty good. The instrumental part is very good and the lyrics stick in your ear. Ebola rocknrollaaaaa! Thanks for sharing!

    Reply by theHumps

Thanks for swinging in and commenting. Fun is what we were going with, I still chuckle when I hear it. Just a punks way of bring attention to a real world problem.

I wanted the guitars a little lower but my brother wanted them louder. Not sure if that is the issue as far as the vocals. The drums, bass and vocals are all even when I mute the guitars but the gits...I'm still hoping for some feedback on that. I started grouping tracks in Ableton so that could be part of it too.

Description : Cheesy, campy horror punk track inspired by and in a way written for a friend of mine. I'm a punk addict and have been doing what I can to make my own as of late. This is the latest, next to some acoustic tracks I've done. It's been featured on Underground Horror Radio (internet punk station) and will be on an upcoming show of Loud and Local on 94.9 if I understand correctly from Jake.

The secondary guitar in the second verse and chorus series is really what makes it for me. The vox aren't the best, as I'm not really a singer, but I've been doing what I can. So it is what it is.
