Description : What would you say if you had to wait more than a year for a daybreak? " Nah...science fiction!" you will say. No, no...that's exactly what happened to me when I started working on a collab with maestro Tumbleweed (the Irish gentleman from Canada whom most of you know well) far more than one year ago. The song was called Breacadh (daybreak) and still is. Uneasy relationship with my Muse led to several (too many) pauses during the process . But who would look backwards now...the dawn is finally breaking...all thanks to Ed !

I listened repeatedly, because I was simply anesthetized with chords and flutes, long notes with much reverberation with much worked ambience.
The instruments have a great equalization, which gives pleasure to listen.
To close your eyes and imagine good things, that's the feeling of that song.

Orlando, such a cool track nice and smooth i like the celtic sounding pipes ive been looking at sonokinetic kontakt bagpipes plug in recently but cant get it sounding right so i deleted the download. Slow tempo here which in my mind is more difficult to cope with than a hard driving tempo and you have done a very nice job of the whole thing, it has a nice peaceful vibe which is good for the soul Bravo. Robbie.

I actually speeded it up to the 2 minute part and then while I was listening I envisioned a small humpback whale swimming gentley and magesticley under water, in the cool blue water, under an iceberg and then he met or he was reunited with his older brother, like in a national geographic movie or animal video and then towards the end I envisioned a skinny midlle aged man with a brown jacket driving in his droptop or convertable with the wind blowin in his hair and face at 2 in the morningm but the scene is filmed in slow motion like in the movie Pulp Fiction before John Travolta shoots up heroine, great stuff, the music I mean

What an interesting imagination...I wouldn't think of something like that myself before but reading your imaginative thoughts I can realise that music can easily
fit the picture. Many thanks for sharing your vision !:)

This is perfect for the title/theme to my ears and soul! I am a major morning person now, and often see daybreak... I can hear it in this. I never was a morning person when younger, unless I had stayed up all night. Now I go to sleep early simply to experience the coolness. The change in the rotational axis of the earth in recent years has caused the heat of the day to move later here... usually around 5 PM. The cold of the night is about 5-6 AM though, and even with the dewpoint what it is now, it is still the best time to be alive. You and Tumbleweed expressed the feeling it gives me perfectly. This is something I would find hard to do. Beautiful composition! This has some amount of remorseful feel to me, yet is so uplifting and hopeful as well. That is exactly the thing! Sometimes a song which defies the passage of time is just what is necessary to convey the feelings. One of the finest collaborations I've heard here on Looperman. Favorite!

    Your ambient tracks are amazing!

The intro is soo good! It just takes you in the track.
Great flute! Which type of flute is that?

Drums are on point and punchy!

    Piano melody is amazing!
Loved the contrast work between the piano, synths and flute.

Tracks really took me to a isolated breathtaking nature environment. Beautiful stuff!

Would really fit in a movie soundtrack!
    Great work!

What a beautiful intro that led into a very relaxing setting for daybreak. It would be cool to know what parts you did and what parts Ed did. I really like it! :-)

    Reply by Orlando51

    Hi Patricia !

So nice to know that you like this track, more so cause you've been working with Ed quite alot.
Basic core of the track is Ed's work including those leading flute parts. I did the entire intro (and outro) and then added a bit distorted harp parts and strings arrangements. I'm also responsible for final mixing and production but I'm sure Ed would do that job much better.

Many thanks again for your friendly feedback!:)

Description : This is for my friend Danke who can't sleep at night. Yes, heat, heat...I guess Africa is hotter, but don't let the title and intro as well, deceive you! This is not African music nor the imitation of it. It's just a picture of starry African sky at night, painted with my european musical sensibilities and some imagination. Description : Dear Loopers...Let Ed and me take you to the world of yet another musical fantasy born out of our latest collab efforts. Ed provided basic structure of the track with ever solid rhythm section, tasty synths and vocal pads while I took
on a role of pretending to be multi-instrumentalist again by smuggling in some sweet strings, bulgarian flute, celtic harp,
unexpectedly blurry piano and this time a tiny bit of real live acoustic guitar...what an adventure for a vst/keyboard guy..:) As always
my sincere thanks to Ed not only for letting me enjoy his great musical company but also for still standing as one of the firm pillars of Looperman society !

Description : I went to the beach and set up my stereo recording mic under a gazebo near it (I apologize for some of the air gusts being recorded haha; we had a strong SE wind that day :P Tried my best to place it out of the wind); wanted to record myself playing live and do some cheesy roleplay in the process - wanted to make it feel like the listener was sitting there beside me. ** This is what the beach looks like: http://static.travel.usnews.com/images/destinations/80/south_padre_island_main.jpg **

Lo and behold, I'm about halfway through the song when my buddy Mark, a friend from college, heard me singing and decided to join me (he seems to never part with his guitar lol).

The expression on his face was that of confusion as to why I had my mic with me and a audio-capturing device, which I plugged into an outdoor electrical plug that the gazebo owners installed lol (I've done recordings like this before but didn't like the results; we messed up a little at the end but I was like meh it's not bad anyways.) but I'm glad he didn't say it out loud or it would have ruined the recording lol. Luckily, I was playing a song he and I wrote together some time ago, so he was able to just jump right in. He's a great guitar player.

Even though it was a little awkward at the end since we hadn't seen each other for like 4 months (you might be able to tell by the way I responded to his "thats so cool" comment haha), I think it turned out just fine. It was a lovely evening and the clouds were all poofy and happy. Lots of people were there too, though I made sure to sit far away from all of them. Ahh, it was a beautiful day. I'm glad I live by the ocean :P * Just kidding, I recorded this in my studio; though I do live close to the water, this was not recorded there :P I did everything, down to the wind blowing into the mic, except for the sound of water and the kids in the background. I got those sounds here: freesfx.co.uk/login/

The guitars and vocals were one-takes to give a more realistic feel. No pitch-correction or autotune. Just wanted to try making another soundscape (or whatever you want to call this :P) about what it's like to live by the ocean.

Description : Glen Cloy is one of the glens of Antrim (Tumbleweed's county) in Northern Ireland. The little people, actualy fairies, populate all of them and they all have very old ghost stories that have been told for centuries (and still are)...This one is about Shaman of old and his journeys through the spiritual world...That sums up what Ed told me about the concept for our 7th (how convenient^^) collab work. The main core of the track is Ed's work and the original length was 5:18, but I wouldn't have been Orlando if I didn't tempt to compose my longest intro to date (3:10) to inject my own fantasies about little creatures of Glen Cloy (soft spot for spiritual world..hehe..). Other than that I also added some synths arrangements and vocal samples for the rest of the track and probably ruined it a bit..haha..but that's how collabs are sometimes..:)^^.....All my thanks to Ed...and Irish ghosts ofcourse...

Description : Last time when I uploaded my track called "The Ring Of Saturn" many reviewers stated that it should belong under "ambient" category, since I tagged it as "cinematic"... so this led me to decision to give you the mother of all ambient pieces and here it is!:)Yet, it has something in common with the previous one....you won't need your sleeping pills... again..:)^^

Tags : | Ambient | 9.59 MB

Description : It's been a while since my last upload, yet here is finally the new one and it's 'dangerous' as it gets cause this time I ultimately decided to dedicate this thing to my dear friend Ed, the man well known to Looperman audience as Tumbleweed.. He has been my huge inspiration for those past few years and always will be. Luckily we've made some pretty decent stuff together and more is to come. Working with Ed helped me to improve alot and this composition is now my way of saying 'thank you' to him and music should express my gratitude better than words....One might expect this will be Irish (or Celtic) music, but it's not necessarily the case...as the title suggests it's merely the touch of it....it's like a mirage in the highland mist and it's full of orlandesque crap to be honest...haha...yet I decided to include a tiny snippet of a famous traditional Irish song at the very end of the track and I bet you will recognize it instantly ...particularly for the lads with Irish roots this shouldn't be a problem...:) So, Ed...put your headphones on and be merciful my friend...:)

UPDATE: 10th March 2016 / Today I decided to do an
alternative mix of the track...and hell yeah, I think it sounds much better now !:)
