G'day mate! You know I should be doing more appropriate that is suitable for my era. One genre seems to dominate this site but there has to be other music lovers out there especially from from my era, or just yearning for something different. Mate, I admire what you do as well, and you get tremendous feedback. So right there is proof people want something other than the cursing and booming 808s songs. I appreciate you stopping by and spreading some good vibes!

    Cheers from Joe!

So smooth. Love how the guitars give it a little grittiness. The brass is sweet. Puts me in a good state of mind. Not sure about the piano in the middle, but the rest sounds as good as anything out there. Would love to hear a vocalist on this.

Joe you have the comments by the upper crust of Looperman, I am in rarefied air here. They took all the good words out of my mouth, lol. I liked the swirling sound and the COSoul nature of it (chill out soul). it was a breath of fresh air, no, the fresh prince of BELair. Keep n dishing it up, bro. vic

Sooo fine, Joseph! My kind of music for sure. And, I'm from that time as well. I just had to start singing a melody to it. Couldn't help myself. I think you channeled a bit of Curtis Mayfield when you made this track. That's the voice I heard in my head. Or perhaps David Ruffin. Just had to download it so I could put it in my car and sing along on my way downtown to work tomorrow.

    Thanks for this.

Eric, somewhere in this world I think I owe you about a billion thanks, so I better get started thanks Eric! But in all seriousness, I have been trying to shed my hip-hop past. I have no problem being called old. I identify with more refined music like Tumbleweed's music and your music anyway. I guess it does not help that much that I still make crazy loops which is something I enjoy doing. Funny you mentioned Curtis Mayfield, I have tapped into him for inspiration on another song of mine. Cheers Eric! Joe

Just wonderful. I have to agree that this is circa 1967. I'm thinking "Your Precious love" by Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell, updated with Curtis Mayfield's "Giving Him Something He Can Feel" from the sleeper hit SPARKLE (RIP Curtis! untimely death silenced a man with many more hits to create)

This is amazing work! The first part took my mind to a Schweppes Kinley Tonic commercial. Very smooth sound track! I think this would be fabulous with some vocals on top, regardless of that it still is a great production you've got here. Literally had me groovin' to it throughout all three plays. Great work, really great work!

Hey Joe..takes me back(and fortunately I have some reasonable equipment to listen to it on now, lol),I think you'd be writing your own ticket if you time traveled back to the motown era man, artists and studios alike would be falling over themselves to get you as a producer...I guess we're all a little guilty of 'blaxploitation' I know I am,I still have all Otis Redding's albums along with Wilson Pickett and heaps of James Brown to name but a few in my record collection....You have to have lived the experience to get to the soul of the situation to express it properly..and you have man!...cool vibes and big slow round wound bass notes! cheers Dave

    JoeFunktastic
    Reply by JoeFunktastic

Dave, I guess I come to realisation that I am old relatively speaking and no shame in that. I have to do me and cut out the hip-hop, trap and dupstep in my life. When I do tracks like these I feel good about myself. Let the kids do their music they got plenty of it.

I feel mugged and beat down by N-word rappers when I hear them rap on their loud tunes. Yes, Exactly Dave, man I am going back restores my dignity and pride a bit. Back in my days we all had small AM band radios in the 60s and you could leave it on all day and be happy. They played more music, better music and fewer commercial for the whole family man and they played some of the greats you just named.

So I said to myself recently there must be a mature listening base here on this site. So I decided to just do me now in my tunes even if I get just 1 listener. Since I stopped chasing fame and stats long ago I have no fear anymore. I use to do song with the direct purpose of pleasing other people rather than create from the heart and accepting critical reviews. Thanks for the review! Joe

Great track, Joe! This is my kind of music for sure! (I just found a singer, busking on Sparks Street Mall here in Ottawa, who could do a killer vocal on it.) Well.. I have been away for such a long time and this is the first song I am getting... definitely I have been missing your music MrFunktastic (my bad).
Wonderful composition: I like to hear this songs as instrumental because I can fully capture all the details.

I'm hip Joe but I'm gonna challenge you a bit on the year 1967. I think it should be 1965.

-LBJ was sworn in for his first full term as U.S.President.

-Muhammad Ali knocks out Sonny Liston in the first round with his now infamous "Phantom Punch".

-NASA launches Gemini 3 into Earth orbit with its first 2 person crew.

-The Beatles movie "Help" is released.

-The U.S. Air Force 2nd Air Division begins bombing North Vietnam.

    and

-Smokey Robinson and the Miracles release "Ohh Baby Baby" on Motown.

I really love the track bro, you nailed the Motown sound and it definitely is shades of Smokey and the Miracles for me.

    Reply by JoeFunktastic

LBJ Built a GREAT SOCIETY back then, welfare? Ali and Liston was in Feb 1964 there brother! I think you got some other dates wrong too, ah ha!

Hey Neo, whats the good word there brother! Me I am just trying to get back in touch with the real me you know. Music is almost spiritual to some and it defines some of this. My son said: Hey dad you use to be cool, I find it difficult to listen Hip-Hop music there brother but call me old fashioned and I will not be offended Neo.

All same, thanks for the review as ramble on here. Peace Brother! Joe

What happened to music is the same thing, that happened to Honour
Truth and Justice it was sacrificed...
For the wealth of a few, at the expense of the many they don't want
them to think anymore, they want them to do as I say and use this...
And they have fallen for it, now it all comes in a box...

Well be that as it may, it's nice to walk back down that street again

Hey TG whats going on there brother! Yeah I guess that is why no one listens to the radio anymore. I remember a time you could just let the radio play man. People today TG just want to be famous and lack the talents of Marvin Gaye as you have seen people like Pharrell Williams ripped off Marvin from the grave.

Anyway, just getting back in touch with the real Joe. The kids got Trap music and Gangsta Rap, oh Good Lord! Save the kids! Ha ha ha! Thanks for the review brother! Joe

I like the composition here, as well as the gentle mix/master. I am a bit sceptic about it being a band playing their instruments, but this does not take away from the effort. Definitely the lack of brickwalling and such things is the most 60s style thing about this for me. It's something I miss a little bit. All in all a fun track!

    JoeFunktastic
    Reply by JoeFunktastic

Hey Spiv! I am glad you noticed. I deliberately tried my darndest to keep the loudness at bay, although during my mastering I was tempted. Back then there wasn't all that much loudness then and I knew I'd be smashed for a loud master. Anyways, Dubstep, Trap, Trance and House are typically loud. By I know you draw the line when it comes to loudness. I am getting it touch with old Joe Bro. Thanks so much! Joe
