Description : I really didn't expect to come up already with the second track after a long break. It seems I had a strong urge to compose some music in these last few days. This one is probably quite weird mixture of different styles like ambient, jungle, electronica and quite evident jazzy punctuations...but still not so weird to put it under that category. I think the general feel still points to the soundworld of ambiental music and at the end of the day it really doesn't matter...it's just music...and it's made 100% from scratch (no loops or samples used). Oh, and good news is it's much shorter than the previous one...so why not give it a try.:)

    Hello Orlando

    Genres are just "uncool" :)
If you find one that fits realy, the music is mostly "usual"

This one is cool, ´cause it is something between genres.
It has a little bit of world music (what ever that is) Tabla things and the savannah, freestyle (whatever that may be) flying around and others inside.

And i have to say - well played and mixed

    I realy enjoyed the listen

    stay tuned

I am back and have now listened to the whole thing.

Just as enjoyable second time around.

Your arp stuff is really quite complex and there are often some rapid little background fills from something that sounds a little like mid-range double bass (the plucked instrument). It has a very acoustic, stringy tone to it.

Aha - now I see what your crazy ending is. 3:54 you've added a load of reasonably aggressive metal drumming. Sounds a little like something I might do.

It's unexpected and my only complaint is that it's not longer. Seems to be a new vibe that could have done with being better explored. Maybe just double its length.

    Great stuff.

    Reply by Orlando51

Welcome back and thanks.:) I'm glad you didn't change your mind on a second listen....and yes, you're right, there is
mid-range double bass. On the other hand I'm not quite sure
about the outro length. It seems ok to me. If I made it just a bit longer, it would probably made no sense at all, but if I went to prolonged exploration I could have easily fallen into a trap of making the track too long and less concise. But yes, there are always so many alternatives to consider and at the end we have to take a certain chioce.

Amyways, thanks alot again for showing that much interest for this little tune of mine.:)

Bravo, bravo, bravo Orlando. This piece reminds me of ambient music I listened to in the 80's. I am now listening to the drums.. different but remarkably crafted. Enjoyed the piece very much, so many elements I found fascinating to my ears. I don't think it's weird at all, I think it's remarkable all around. Production is top notch.

I normally run from spiders, let alone dance with one. But this spider is worth dancing with.

    Hi again.

I must admit that I did my review without actually getting to the end of your not especially long track, which is rare for me. And now I see that there's apparently some suprising, interesting stuff happening at the end. But I'm at work so can't listen again right now. I'll re-review tomorrow and look forward to whatever surprises the ending holds.

I know some people review my tracks without making it to the end but, considering their length, that's not altogether surprising.

Sorry to hear of any illness keeping you from making music. I'm glad to say that's never really happened to me (well, maybe very occasionally for a day or two). I do it almost every day.

    More tomorrow, take care.

A very enjoyable listen for me, especially considering that it is ambient in theme... it is so much more than that though. Obviously I love what you did with the arpeggiations, and the subtle bass is is very effective. I find it funny when people use the word "jungle" regarding a song... I'd say the songs end up being split between a song with influences from tribal type of rhythms, and one with influences from drum and bass electronic music. When it is mentioned in a description I never know what to expect! I was happy to hear it was more along the lines of tribal elements this time. You made a great song here, and it definitely suggests spider imagery. Thank you for sharing! Fave!

Hi Spiv...nice to have you here again! I've been pretty much absent lately but I managed to find a little time gap to create 2 new pieces. The other one is "New York Minute" just in case if you're interested to listen. Why do you mean by 'dancing with spiders'?

These spiders instantly reminded me of a song from the national - I listened a lot to this one https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oqHdi_94SR4

    here goes the lyrics:

It's a terrible love and I'm walking with spiders
It's a terrible love and I'm walking in
It's a terrible love and I'm walking with spiders
It's a terrible love and I'm walking in

    It's quite company
    It's quite a company

It's a terrible love and I'm walking with spiders
It's a terrible love and I'm walking in
It's a terrible love and I'm walking with spiders
It's a terrible love and I'm walking in

    It's quite a company
    It's quite a company
    It's quite a company

    And I can't fall asleep
    Without a little help
It takes a lot to settle down
I sailed a boat into the past except

It takes an ocean not to break
It takes an ocean not to break
It takes an ocean not to break
It takes an ocean not to break company

    It's quiet company
    It's quiet company

But I won't follow you into the rabbit hole
I said I would but then I saw
    Your shiver bones
    They didn't want me to

It's a terrible love and I'm walking with spiders
It's a terrible love and I'm walking in
It's a terrible love and I'm walking with spiders
It's a terrible love and I'm walking in

It takes an ocean not to break
It takes an ocean not to break
It takes an ocean not to break

lol maybe I should post this on favourite lyrics lm thread instead in order to bump up myself.

It's so different from your production but there are spiders in here anyway so anyway I hope it's not ony spamming.

    Reply by Orlando51

Thanks alot for the link. I found the track very interesting musicaly and the lyrics is somehow surrealistic, but ofcourse has nothing to do with my spider for which I developed some musical observations (dances). Btw, don't worry about spamming

Basically: these are cool arpeggios and a haunting otherworldy vibe.

Perfect for soundtrack another planet. Also with a bit of a forest feel, which seems to be coming from that shaker.

This is skilful, hypnotic stuff and I can hear some background pad work to add additional depth. But main arpeggio just runs away with it. You can almost dance to this, in a gentle kind of way.

    Fine work.

Sorry for brief review - I'm short of time.

Seems to me the time off has served you well. Cool sounding delayed synths give the song a lot of depth. Ambient world music type feel which I like but I am awake early today and I often listen to music like this to put me to sleep, c'mon coffee!!!

I honestly like tracks that take all sorts of elements and combine them. Even though there is the overriding theme of a jungle expedition(to me) the music allows the listener's mind to wander wherever it wants to. And as a composer you want to capture the listener's imagination and attention. You have done that fine sir!

Way to go Orlando, you always seem to find a way to make music interesting and fun to listen to.

    Reply by Orlando51

Hi Wayne....I'm really grateful for your comprehensive observation. After certain number of comments I realised the track has enough different elements to take listeners to many different places. Silverman before you saw a Banksy, which is however less expected, but jungle expedition is much much closer to what one might visualise.

so basically there is a kind of funky rhythm in there. that's for sure!

Description : I went to the beach and set up my stereo recording mic under a gazebo near it (I apologize for some of the air gusts being recorded haha; we had a strong SE wind that day :P Tried my best to place it out of the wind); wanted to record myself playing live and do some cheesy roleplay in the process - wanted to make it feel like the listener was sitting there beside me. ** This is what the beach looks like: http://static.travel.usnews.com/images/destinations/80/south_padre_island_main.jpg **

Lo and behold, I'm about halfway through the song when my buddy Mark, a friend from college, heard me singing and decided to join me (he seems to never part with his guitar lol).

The expression on his face was that of confusion as to why I had my mic with me and a audio-capturing device, which I plugged into an outdoor electrical plug that the gazebo owners installed lol (I've done recordings like this before but didn't like the results; we messed up a little at the end but I was like meh it's not bad anyways.) but I'm glad he didn't say it out loud or it would have ruined the recording lol. Luckily, I was playing a song he and I wrote together some time ago, so he was able to just jump right in. He's a great guitar player.

Even though it was a little awkward at the end since we hadn't seen each other for like 4 months (you might be able to tell by the way I responded to his "thats so cool" comment haha), I think it turned out just fine. It was a lovely evening and the clouds were all poofy and happy. Lots of people were there too, though I made sure to sit far away from all of them. Ahh, it was a beautiful day. I'm glad I live by the ocean :P * Just kidding, I recorded this in my studio; though I do live close to the water, this was not recorded there :P I did everything, down to the wind blowing into the mic, except for the sound of water and the kids in the background. I got those sounds here: freesfx.co.uk/login/

The guitars and vocals were one-takes to give a more realistic feel. No pitch-correction or autotune. Just wanted to try making another soundscape (or whatever you want to call this :P) about what it's like to live by the ocean.

The little people, actualy fairies, populate all of them and they all have very old ghost stories that have been told for centuries (and still are)...This one is about Shaman of old and his journeys through the spiritual world...That sums up what Ed told me about the concept for our 7th (how convenient^^) collab work. The main core of the track is Ed's work and the original length was 5:18, but I wouldn't have been Orlando if I didn't tempt to compose my longest intro to date (3:10) to inject my own fantasies about little creatures of Glen Cloy (soft spot for spiritual world..hehe..). Other than that I also added some synths arrangements and vocal samples for the rest of the track and probably ruined it a bit..haha..but that's how collabs are sometimes..:)^^.....All my thanks to Ed...and Irish ghosts ofcourse...

Description : Last time when I uploaded my track called "The Ring Of Saturn" many reviewers stated that it should belong under "ambient" category, since I tagged it as "cinematic"... so this led me to decision to give you the mother of all ambient pieces and here it is!:)Yet, it has something in common with the previous one....you won't need your sleeping pills... again..:)^^

Description : It's been a while since my last upload, yet here is finally the new one and it's 'dangerous' as it gets cause this time I ultimately decided to dedicate this thing to my dear friend Ed, the man well known to Looperman audience as Tumbleweed.. He has been my huge inspiration for those past few years and always will be. Luckily we've made some pretty decent stuff together and more is to come. Working with Ed helped me to improve alot and this composition is now my way of saying 'thank you' to him and music should express my gratitude better than words....One might expect this will be Irish (or Celtic) music, but it's not necessarily the case...as the title suggests it's merely the touch of it....it's like a mirage in the highland mist and it's full of orlandesque crap to be honest...haha...yet I decided to include a tiny snippet of a famous traditional Irish song at the very end of the track and I bet you will recognize it instantly ...particularly for the lads with Irish roots this shouldn't be a problem...:) So, Ed...put your headphones on and be merciful my friend...:)

UPDATE: 10th March 2016 / Today I decided to do an
alternative mix of the track...and hell yeah, I think it sounds much better now !:)

Description : This piece of music is still in some kind of development phase and yet rounded just enough to share it here for the first try and to maybe pick some useful comments and advice. Just don't make a suicide after the first listen, boys and girls, cause it's so sad, sad, sad....:)
