Hey Joe. If LogJammin had a theme tune this would be it :D

Few people feel the pimp fifth, or better said, grunge between the beats. Really good job being patient and having minimalism that you've pulled off to perfecting. That guitar and bass build goes from dirty to Satriani clean at 1.38.

It's perfect as it is, I'd have chosen some chops and schreds near the end for some tension, but that's super hyper critical.

Hey, this is pretty sweet! Totally not in my main listening preferences of course, but I can totally appreciate the talent and effort contained within. Sounds vintage, but with the cleanliness of modern recording abilities. I must admit that my favorite cop based TV show of all time would be Columbo, which is a bit far from this sort of vibe, though similar era I guess. I just liked that he didn't wear a uniform, he didn't drive a cop car, he smoked cigars whenever he wanted, stuff like that... most people thought he was a bystander. Either way, this is a cool funky joy ride! Nice one!

Yeah Spiv, my older side is coming out for that classic sounds. It feels great to be just you, you know. When you do music that makes you feel great and that expresses who you really are and someone else like then that's way cool! Instead of doing music for people and so called friends to stay cool with them, I decided to do Joe. I am glad I nearly got the door shut on Hip-Hop. I cannot find anything in Hip-Hop songs that I enjoy these days. Hip-Hop was once great, ho hum I guess. Cop shows of the 70s, I was a cop show junkie. I guess cops had better images back then like the show "The Streets of San Francisco" and Barretta. Thanks for at least listening man! Joe

I can't believe you went there LOL! I felt like I was in the 5th grade and Starsky and Hutch were on! If, you only knew how rare funk is these days. Top notch Joe!

Ha ha ha, man you must know I was raised in Funk, musty Funk, sweaty Funk, smelly Funk, yeah my poor nose! Well maybe that is a bit too extreme. But the 60s and 70s, I can dig it man. I figure the kids and these cats got their music and there is no need for me my brother to do hip-hop, now can you dig that man. I am just an old bloke from the past so I needed to go there, ha ha ha! Thanks for your support! Peace, Joe

Wow....This is your first piece I've had the chance to listen to, and I must say that all the words spoken to your skillz are not in any way false. You do a great job with the funky feel. The guitar solo that sits so solidly in the center of the mix really is smooth and catchy, I could definitely hear this being used as the intro to a modern TV show, without a doubt :) Good work, bud.

Cheers from a youngin' like myself!

Yo ER, Thanks man! How's it going man? You are pretty busy here on this site man. I've been here for a while. I deleted my account once before, ha ha ha! You know, when one gets frustrated with his own music shit and resorts to drastic measures, well I did, and started back in my rightful place, the funk. This site got all kinds of people calling chill songs hip-hop. I know on my early account I made a few hip-hop zingers! But yeah those cop shows also had music that could of pass for early porn music man. Not that I watched those movies but...damn lost my thought. But all the same thanks for the kind words. Joe

Oh hell Joe, you nailed it!!!! First off, I definitely was a fan of the show, and wish there were more shows like that one still on TV.

Now to your great song. Love the crunchy tone on that lead guitar....nice and crispy. Wah wah chugs are nice too. Great simple but effective bass line that drives this baby like an engineer drives a train. Really nice dynamics throughout as well.

The king of funk does it again. You keep setting the bar right up there Joe. Production is just sick as well. Like Domenico, the only thing I'd change is the fade out, but other than that, this one is a 10 for me. Well done. I hope all is well.

Bear Hello! Good Lorde man you are a site for sore eyes here if you will. Everytime I see a post from you it reminds me of the time when everyone knew everyone on this site and this community was rockin'! The best memories seems like the old ones. I'm in my 50s now and I am so glad I was born when I was. It has given me broader perspective than the kids today like my own son.

Bear, TV cop shows today seems to want to out bloody, out gore, out shock, and out do each other with very little storylines. As far as music goes, I cannot imagine myself listening to today's radio, all electro garbage hook stuff. Man you know I remember being recognized as the King of Funk here some years ago. When it was happening I hated that. But looking back I love it now! Because it was a high honor I did not deserve but all the same it felt great being recognized by my peers. That is about the highest honor you can get in music as an artist and that is respect from your peers.

Thanks again for the the review and kind words. Best regards, Joe.

Hey Joe this is great! Reminds me of watching shows like Mod Squad, Beretta... back in the 70's. The theme songs were better back then. Great guitar parts, the wah and the screaming lead fills set the tone for the rest of the goodness that happens.

Now I need to go pet my pet rock and put my moon shoes on because you put me in the mood, lol.

Well done Joe, good to see ya around.

Hey Wayne we miss up here, ha ha ha! We got a new republican governor now whooHoo, yeah lol. I hope things are well there man, me, I am finally free from the proverbial ball and chain, ha ha ha!

Thanks Wayne. You know Bear called me by my old proclamation, "The King of Funk." That gave a crazy flashback to the earlier days here when everyone damn near knew everyone and things were much more fun.

Hey Wayne, 70s cop show had better stoylines, better music, less blood, less gore and better characters. So now that I am in my 50s like you, things look and sound different to me. I appreciate people and things more, even on looperman.com I now avoid forum scrapes and scraps, and I just enjoy life a bit more daily with my kids.

My random reflections Wayne, but hey thanks pal for chiming in, one way or another I will always keep funkin'! Thanks for the review! Cheers Wayne!

    Hi MrFunk!
I used to watch Starsy&Hutch with my father when I was a child...and of course the highlight for me was Huggy!
He was the real star of the series! (I won't say anything about the movie they made... embarassing)
And this track is a perfect incarnation of these atmospheres. Superb guitar. Bass on spot.
But really everything works well here.
    Superb. 10 out of 10!
    Ciao, Domenico

PS: the fade out could be improved, but it's nothing serious. this track is already "funktastic" :-)

I know I`m going to hearing from the best even before I hit play.....(you already know I`m biased Joe)...the cool lead guitar (very tasty by the way) did surprise me a bit..the bassline is nicely paced with the space for that drum kit.cool rhythm guitars..I hear some of those thoughtful production techniques you obviously spent time on too...whats left to say really...we are hearing from the Meistro himself...its funktastic.....Fav......Ed

Ed, Ed, Eddie! Ha ha ha! You have got to be the real boss here when it comes to music excellence. I am just your everyday humble dude by day and funkster at night. But all kidding aside I really appreciate the era of music we were brought up in man. Kids today, very few of them know what real music is. Sampling songs from the past and throughing a synth and a beat to it and calling it a song is quite sad these days Ed. I had fun with this. But I know who the man is here! It's You brother! Peace! Joe
