    Dan,

    this is exquisite
the sparse use of instruments is quite compelling
    your soundscape creation is captivating

The first section appears to set the stage, transporting us from our personal world into the realm your music is creating - we then here the bell toll repeatedly above a sorrowful theme conveying great loss to me. This is the realm of observation

As we hear the "booms" - we sink deeper - from the observational realm to that of personal feelings and emotions. Two characters enter as we hear the accordion and the reed instrument dialogue as if in conversation (perhaps in a futile conversation) across a soundscape of music that conveys "ruin"

To my ears it sounds as if the accordion is trying to console the reed as it spirals in despair

The voice is like the "divine heart" of the track - a pillar of infinite compassion

As the track evolves - it would appear there is no true resolve - just moving onward with the weight of event still in consciousness.

Love and compassion are every present in this piece - with an impetus to move onward - even though it may be difficult.

Dan - your works always transmit such depth of feeling to me - you are a soul of great feeling and reflection. Thank you for being so courageous to not only compose such a piece, but to share it as well. Blessings to you and yours.

    Bonjour Ren ....

Thank you for these words so appreciative .... When I read your bio, I know that the music you really touched. It is music that comes out of stereotypical music we hear all day long. A concept that you understand.
This is music that I designed after an injury .... One way to express my pain, and certain disarray ....
Music has this power of expression, better sometimes than words.

Thank you for having understood this musical message.
    Take care of yourself.

Hi Dan, I am knocked out by your music. This track clearly relates to great sadness but also great dignity and nobility. I imagine some circumstance where the subject has hurt, misunderstanding and false accusations thrust on him/her and is unable to defend themselves because the subject must protect some other person - loyalty could never be compromised.

Music can paint the most vivid pictures.

This is sometimes for an important and sad event, a way to communicate to share, and to release some tension .... without big speech.
Thank you very much, because you seem to have "sensed" the musical message that I spent .... and show some sensitivity in your comment.

Hi Vicky. First I want to say I hope you and the family are having a good and healthy New Year. Second, I want to say that I'm sorry I haven't been around to review your compositions more often.

Third, I want to say that your mastering skills are impressive. You have what they called "The golden ears". This is a beautiful piece. It tells a story without words. When you write something like this is means it came from the heart.

Thank you for sharing. Until then, take care.

My friend, in all of my travels, it seems I have missed this masterpiece.

It is simply breathtaking. So emotive. An absolute masterpiece.

You truly are a maestro, and yes, this does belong in flim. It is as good as any song I've heard in a long, long time - simply a flawless piece of art.

A beautiful accompanyment to my morning coffee. Thank you my friend. I hope you had a safe and happy New Year. And I hope 2014 is one of your best years ever.

My word Dan. This is a truly wonderful piece. This could easily compliment any of the great tragedy films of our time. The deep and reverbed massive bass booms are breath taking. The delicate use of instruments but still producing such powerful emotional scenes. The distant howls near the end are chilling. The stings at the start remind me a bit of the soundtrack to Elephant Man, then into what only I can describe as either war scenes or human devastation. Then the the light horns and woodwind lifting us up the the lone voice. Awesome. Singularly I feel the best work I have heard in a long time. Congratulations on a superlative track. You my friend are the master!!

    Awww!
This piece should be in a movie!
It's full of sadness and beauty...
I'm lost of words to describe the feelings, emotions, sensations, memories and sorrow that this melody reflects...
It's like a whisper in the wind that invites me to cry... to remember all I've lost... all I've gotten and never wanted... All I am... and all I always wanted to be and never could...
    It's so beautiful... so beautiful...

Description : I had no particular intention doing this, but then it just came on me out of nowhere....How to make an antithesis Halloween work!? Prior to that there were no plans to make a track for the occasion, furthermore I've never been really interested in such a thing. It always seemed a bit silly to me if not outright childish. But then I remembered the Interview with The Vampire and Bram Stoker's Dracula. My gosh, there was some peculiar romanticism in there and I probably don't have to tell you twice that this must be a bait for Orlando, as is a cup of fresh young blood for a vampire...:) Furthermore I like people who are different, so I just have to like vampires who a different as well...hehe...so it should be dawning on you by now that this won't be your standard Halloween tune...haven't I mentioned "antithesis"? So...no growling zombies, midnight cemetery bells, creaking doors or any of your favourite horror sounds, although it's still a little bit darker in tone...hell yeah, vampires are still vampires...haha...but this one is mainly about a vampire desperately in love with a young lady, craving for her as a madman...I won't tell whether she's also a vampire or not, cause you might figure it out listening to the track...^^ Otherwise it was about time for me to come up with a new solo work, since I've been almost exclusively doing collabs in those past few months (which I love ofcourse)...afteral you can always ask Ed...:)^^____Happy Halloween folks!:)
