Joe my man, even after all these years you're still making some kickin music. It sounds so natural like it was done by..a professional? You that guy, man. Well done!

    Reply by JoeFunktastic

And this was the old me (Young Me), lol, ha ha ha! I hate irony. Well, I gave up hip-hop years ago just after I did this one. I decided to give this one another run. So this was the classic Joe. Now I am like pretty chill now and very funked up!

Centrist, if I tried to recapture my previous magic I might hurt myself bro. Oh well, it so good to remember. Thanks Centrist. Joe

sexy track joe...will the real loopmaster please step forward....8 years later and still fresh

    Reply by JoeFunktastic

Thank Terry! Yous said the right thing. I had used 48 unique loops that at one point bro I was getting tired and confused near the end. At one point I nearly quit because things started to get messy. I regain my composure and finished it. But after that, I decided not to go so big like that ever again. Thanks, I appreciate that!

I really love this!!! I'm almost 50, so you can easily figure out that this brings me back! :) To me, this is a lot more enjoyable to listen to than current hip hop stuff. No offense to current trends and of course I am more connected to this sound due to my age haha. Great track man, thanks for letting us listen to it!

    Reply by JoeFunktastic

I am older than you Todd so later for that age stuff man. I agree with everything you said. Hip-Hop was once family-friendly. This is why classic hip-hop brings back such fond memories. But now, let's just say Hip-Hop has some serious issues. Thanks so much!

This is who I once was, that "me" is long gone. This is just a small window on what I once was. Although I posted this in 2012, you would have to go back all the way to 2005 before I was Funkin' and Rockin', and when I was knee-deep into classic Hip-Hop culture. Somewhere along the way I had a personal disaster and lost all of my stuff. This is what remained as a reminder of what I was many years back. I ain't got stuff like that anymore and if I tried again it would me imitating my previous me. I was in the zone back then in classic hip-hop but I lost that vibe. Thanks! Joe.

Good morning my friend. This is absolutely irresistible music, to be heard many and many times in a row. The riffs are perfect, the use of sounds overwhelming. Incredible how your sound manages to sound at the same time vintage and absolutely current, but this is precisely the characteristic of great music that is not forced within the time in which it was made. Best wishes

    Reply by JoeFunktastic

Yo! Marco! You know, the classics is what feeds me bro! I am inspired and influenced by so many as a way of paying homage to ones who paved the way. I only hope I never lose that thing that drives me. Thank you so much Marco! Take care man.

Thanks bro! I see the old school hip-hop, funk, and disco making a comeback here. I really hope so. There just too much trap around here. I appreciate it man.

A while back I once gathered up some poeple on this site and did a funk collab with them. That just does not happen anymore these days. Peace!

Now this is how i remember hip hop back in the good old days. So yeah i did dig this track a lot. So yeah all ingredients are well balanced. The sound quality on itself is also good. So yeah a job very well done & executed. And this one might also be a potential candidate for my favs list. So yeah excellent job. Keep on creating & listening. And have a good, Verdi

That's dope Joe, I was lucky enough to see Melle Mel 2 summers ago at Montreal jfl festival, it was awesome. I love some scratching but who is the prime minister of scratch? I like the dialated people's they like the scratch. I was going to upload my neuro funk today but I guess they only take mp3's on here, only wav files can handle my funky ways, I prob go fix it up some other day.

not meaning to diminish the rest of the track MrF....but that funk snare grabs my attention every time....and as for the rest....well, its waaaay up there at the level we have come to expect of your mixes....right on....Ed

    Reply by JoeFunktastic

Hey Ed! What's going man. Ha ha, ya know the snare, the snare, the snare. Not often will you will find me doing a 100% loop based track. The loop samples are from a commercial loop pack that was Acidized. I had no control over the drum loop other than trying to add a bit of compression. In any regard Ed my friend it was fun to do.

    Peace bro!

now let me clear my throat! epic time travel piece here, brings back memories, stayin up late listenin to dj touch tone tear it up. sounds like the live recording of the set, breaks and scratches melded together perfectly. awesome job dude.

    Reply by JoeFunktastic

Thanks bro! You know I was fortunate to not having the need to rip from the source. I produce in Reason 5 but on this one all clips from the sax to the scratches are Acidized loops.

Not to often I will use loops. The loops come from several loop packs because yes I was desperately trying to create that early hip-hop sound.

    Thanks for the review!

This is so intensely groovy! I like it when someone can remind me why I like hip hop, and you've done that right here! Great use of loops! Definitely an old school journey!

    Reply by JoeFunktastic

Thanks Spiv! Even producers such as me can do a loop track once in a while but I wanted to make it count!

Thanks for the review. Me and old school seem to like one another. Peace spiv!

Gotta love the roots of hip hop with some good ol scratching! Grandmaster Flash is definitely no stranger to it. Liked that you use some acid loops for the production. I have literally all of them. That's what i started making beats with. Nothing but loops, Acid pro 7. Once upon a time i was probably one of the biggest loop fanatics and would do nothing but download A LOT of loops and make beats(a lot of weird ones actually lol). especially on here. But that was before i became apart of the community. Listening to this however makes me want to get back into some loop based composition, As i am no stranger to it and it's all good fun in the process. but yea man, dope. Again, keep it funky then! lol peace

    Reply by JoeFunktastic

Neobane you are really cool man, no BS, and thanks man. This one was one of those tracks I did years ago my Friend. I was a pretty good follower of DJ Puzzle as well. Also during that time I was an strickly an Acid Looper too.

Like you i made that transition to music producer and made my own tracks and loops. But yeah I miss those days. People had real talent, vocal skills that flowed, no auto-tune and looping was done on two turntables.

So then the other night DJ Puzzle, the one who does the Acidized Scratching on this shows up here on LM, COOL! I remember I had this one featuring him. So I uploaded it quickly.

But yeah I actually DJayed in those days the old school way. Good times man, good times. Thanks for review! I'll be seeing you around InPSYcLe!

I got in to Grandmaster flash in the 80.!

    I love this oldschool trip.!

    Very nice memories!

I got to get back in to break dancing lol

    Reply by JoeFunktastic

Thanks man! I still got a little old school hip-hop left in me. To be honest. People had more talent then. They flowed lyrically, they had raw talent and no auto-tune.

    Thanks for the review!

Man this is dope,..love it! Listened to it twice. Took me back a bit. Excellent track.

    Reply by JoeFunktastic

Yeah thanks man! Don't see you that often. I did this a while ago with Scratches provided by DJ Puzzle.

When he showed up he reminded me that I had a collab track with him. Thanks for the review.
