Sounds more like Alternative and Punk Rock. The cymbals are a bit too loud. And that weird synth introduction drives the whole song into its own car crash. And the vocals, chiefly the chorus, are sitting in mud beneath the music! Vocals shouldn't sit under the music. This does a disservice to the vocals and makes her sound like Joan Jett (although at Joan's musical zenith).
PatriciaEdwards replied 13th May 2019 - 5 years ago
Thank you for the constructive criticism Judah76. I am the vocals and I appreciate it. :-)

Huge screams and cool lyrics in this ROCK song...tempo is outstanding and those riffs too...I'm not really a fan of this slushy guitar tone but it's my problem...all in all, was good to hear you in this genre...

greetings, Danke
PatriciaEdwards replied 13th May 2019 - 5 years ago
Danke, sorry it's taken me two years to reply! I now know it's not heavy metal, it's rock...thanks for the listen. :-)

I liked playing Let the Bodies hit the floor really loud in traffic especially when stuck next to an older couple, but I think I like this better :p Very punk rock like, *breaks stuff* On your way to a gig or to have your mohawk respiked and dyed? Geesh, road rage! LOL! Awesome, always good to try new styles -:D
PatriciaEdwards replied 13th May 2019 - 5 years ago

Don't take this the wrong way but you really got a Rihanna vibe going on, as far as creativity is concerned. I say that because I admire her creativity and music, despite her being not a very admirable person. lol. You got different musical messeges instead of the same old love songs and "whoa is me". Another nice rock piece.
PatriciaEdwards replied 13th Oct 2016 - 7 years ago
Aw, thank you. I understand what you are saying and appreciate the compliment, that kind of stuff is what sells. :-)

O_O This is a first for me lol....Done a small amount of time on the scene as a metal drummer and i dont think i've ever came across a female vocalist who sang metal.....haha its funny and makes for a good laugh.... but its actually really good. the screams and the yells are executed really well and are up to par with typical metal hate to be driving in front of you lol
PatriciaEdwards replied 16th Oct 2012 - 11 years ago
What? [gasps] Females don't sing Metal, hmph! Glad to be the first you've heard.

I'm really not that bad........................

Thanks Tim.

I have to apologise - I still haven't stopped laughing since I first heard this!! It's such good fun and all done in the right spirit. The track behind your singing is absolutely on the money. It's a fabulous collaboration. Love it!

PatriciaEdwards replied 16th Oct 2012 - 11 years ago

It kind of caught me by surprise that you laughed, but I wasn't offended, laughter is good for the soul.

If I had just a little of our friend Bear`s talent I likely wouldn`t be near as humble as he is....the man is dynamite on anything of his I have listened to...I have a folder with his name on it....and this one is just a fine exhibit of you versatility Patricia....lots of energy...If I had a bit more hair I`d be shaking it or jumping in the mosh pit (no I take that part my age that would kill me)...Great stuff from two big talents...way to go.....Ed
PatriciaEdwards replied 16th Oct 2012 - 11 years ago
Mr. Bear is one of the humblest of them all!! And very versatile as well. Haha, shake your head anyway lol.

Thanks Ed.
ShortBusMusic 19th May 2012 15:59 - 12 years ago
This is by far, one of the best driving songs I've heard. Your vocals took this one way over the top and it is now burned to CD's and on the IPod and will be played loudly and proudly in my car, especially when following some little old lady with blue hair who feels the need to occupy the fast lane while driving 1/2 the speed limit, hahaha.

Patricia, you could sing the phone book and make it sound great. I knew you were versatile, but this shows that you can do anything and do it extremely well. Brilliant lyrics, brilliant vocals. This should be the anthem for our nation of commuters, hahaha.

AWESOME work!!!!!

PatriciaEdwards replied 16th Oct 2012 - 11 years ago

The phonebook is pretty thick, some day I may give it a shop haha

Thank you so much for the muzic Mr. Bear!
theHumps 19th May 2012 13:34 - 12 years ago
The opening to this was great! Lot's of early Joan Jett in the singing and attitude. You have such a strong vocal and I am delightfully surprised at you taking on this project, it really shows your ability to take on any genre, I'm impressed.

This is almost punk, on the heavy side of it. I just happen to have a track similar(in the ballpark) sitting around waiting for vocals. I did it a couple months ago and I waiting for some inspiration to either do vocals or find someone with the right approach to sing it. hmmmm..... you got me thinking Patricia!

I am def gonna dl this, this is too good not to. Bear is amazing how versatile he is when it comes to making music. You two hit the nail on the head. I think humor in music is essential and I must admit this put a smile on my face and made me chuckle at a few of the lines. You just reviewed my punk track and the lyrics have the same idea going, fun but sung seriously.

Great job!!
PatriciaEdwards replied 16th Oct 2012 - 11 years ago
Thank you Wayne. Humor is what keeps me sane sometimes.

Mr. Bear has a lot of goodies in his shop :-)

It's all gone a bit chicken oriental. You've done a good job with this. It's fun as well as angry.
Am i to assume that you got stuck behind a dawdler just before you did this? If i'm honest i quite like the idea that you recorded it in the car, whilst hanging out of the window & franticly waving your index finger at the offending motorist.
I have to say i wasn't expecting this and it was a nice suprise.
PatriciaEdwards replied 16th Oct 2012 - 11 years ago
Hey Free, hope you're back on the scene by now...dunno how I missed all these reviews, but anyhooooooo...

Hanging out the car, no, they can see me just fine in the rear view mirror hahahahah

Thanks Free.
RaRCharm 18th May 2012 21:21 - 12 years ago
You're simply amazing. I love the versatility. You consistently never disappoint. I'm trippin because this would've been the perfect song for this morning, but it will be the song for the ride home...just my luck traffic will be clear lol.
PatriciaEdwards replied 16th Oct 2012 - 11 years ago
I try to dabble outside my "box" once in a while, never know what you can stumble into that way lol. Hope you're getting good use out of this.

Thanks RaRCharm!!
supersymmetry 18th May 2012 21:19 - 12 years ago
lol... lol [giggles] Wow Patricia! Interesting piece. nice genre choice, however, this is like 80s punk rock meets the huge 90s grunge movement. hence, punkgrunge! love the hostility in the road rage elements in this track.
seriously, nonetheless nice work! :D
PatriciaEdwards replied 16th Oct 2012 - 11 years ago
It's nice when you can laugh at moments like this. Life if too short not to.

Glad you liked it.
Mahloo13 18th May 2012 20:29 - 12 years ago
Okk if you insist I'm gonna move it! Sheesh a bit of patience Patricia! Lol!

I remember this track from Barry! Such an addictive rhythm! I like how your sounds so angry! Actually reminded me a bit of Pink Floyd!

I really find it amazing how you can add vocals to anything and definitely this was unexpected! Very cool though!

Have you ever considered starting a Heavy Metal band? Lol!

All the best!

Description : I asked Danke if I could add some vocals to his track Future Machine and he kindly agreed and sent me the track. The lyrics are about a soldiers experience in war as he and his trench mates are told to get up and out of their trench and attack the enemy across open fields. I can only imagine the fear, tension and chaos that goes through one's mind at that moment.
17th Dec 2016 17:09 - 7 years ago
Description : I discovered Meshuggah around 2003 and was blown away by the power, complexity and super Heavy sound of their music. Their "Nothing" album marked the switch to 8 string guitars and pushed Heavy Metal into a whole new territory. My track is a variant cover of their song "Nebulous". I have stayed pretty close to the original but added a few dynamic elements of my own. Its loud, its super heavy and way out there...Beyond Nebulous.
8th Jan 2015 12:32 - 9 years ago
Description : This unconventional metal track is dedicated to Valvedriver though it's not a parody of his fine music or me actively trying to sound like it. I struggled for months with the first few minutes of this track knowing that I must be able to take it somewhere deeper, more psychedelic and powerful. Then I loaded some sampled choir voice instruments, as used in my track Reckful and suddenly found myself happily in Valveland - not a place I visit often. Feeling amply Valvedriven and newly inspired, I added the last few minutes fairly easily and very quickly. So: it's a twisting, turning mixture of grunge, menacing ambient, mystical metal and ultra-heavy funk. Instruments: electric guitar+bass, synth basses, female choir voices, one synth pad, some other synths on the nastier side of things and a few programmed heavy acoustic drumkits playing a mixture of triplets and straighter grooves. Interesting thoughts appreciated. Favourite bits? Shit bits? Please listen on good headphones/speakers as there's a lot of heavy bass in this. Now get ready to rock: balls out, hands in the air and with rebellious joy in your heart. Just try not to headbang the hell out of your laptop. Go!
