I just upgraded to FL9 which is pretty impressive!! Its seems like this version uses less cpu which is a plus!! The interface has a couple of new features tht speeds up the beat making process. They added 4 new synths which i played with a little bit and they have some powerful sounds coming out of them! All in all I think FL user will be happy with this new version!! All Hail FL9!!!!!!!!

Hells Yeah .... I just got it 30 minutes ago as well as PoiZone, Toxic Biohazard, Sawer and Hardcore VSTi's. In case anyone is interested, here are some new features & changes you'll get and see with the new FL 9 XXL Producers Edition.

    Key new features and changes:

Over 370 additions, changes & bugfixes featuring:

Sidechaining - The FL Studio Mixer 'Track Send' now has an
additional 'Sidechain' mode to support multiple-input mixer plugins.

Multi-core CPU (Hyperthreading) - Improved multithreaded generator & added multithreaded effects processing.

Multiple controllers. You can now control multiple independent instrument channels, assigned by MIDI number.

    New volatile linking feature.

Wrapper - Aligned tick lengths checkbox for greater plugin compatibility.

    Revised Playlist

Playlist track naming & icon - ( Tools for better song organization ) plus playlist track mute controls and more.

    New plugins:

Ogun: synthesizer specialized in metallic timbres.
    Gross Beat: beat rearranger effect.
New Autogun synthesizer based on Ogun.

    Vocodex: vocoder effect.

Heavy weaponry for the loudness war

Maximus will deliver transparent peak limiting and volume maximization without coloration of the processed sound. However, Maximus is much more than a pristine quality Mastering Maximizer, it's also a Compressor, Limiter, Noise Gate, Expander, Ducker and De-esser. Maximus excels equally well as
a final mastering plugin or as a per-track effect. Lock and load.

    Implemented & removed:

Right-clicking playlist items no longer deletes them.

You can now middle-click the working area to pan plugin windows ( ONLY plugins, as it's designed for oversized VST's ).

So there you go ... thats it in a nutshell. Now say goodbye to FL 8 XXL cause its all FL 9 XXL from now on. Expect some new s**t real soon.

    J DOT ~ 2006 ( sorry for the long post )

too bad they didnt change anything on the sound engine itself cause that is what really would make me change to 9. besides the rest, Im still pretty served with v8.0.

FL will never change its sound engine..(quoted by gol)

gol is the main programmer there, the guy who made FL what it is..

I hope he starts a new project soon leaving imageline ;)

still on FL studio 7, its pretty much perfect for how I produce I'm not sure i would like anything different I have got really used to FL7.

as long as the over all sound output is not better than 7, I would be hard pressed to find a reason to upgrade.

    any reasons ?

I was rockin FL 7 for the longest. Just got FL 9 this afternoon. I think its much smoother. I really dig the new FL. I thinks its better geared for mastering! Lots of new cool little things that set it aside from the older versions!

FL 5 all the way.... no real reason for me to change yet. looks a bit gimmicky for me, kinda looks to "hard drive" intensive, with all the new graphics and what not...

Too much eye candy, nothing new. Except for the bundled synths, which aren't that great imo

I love fruity and dont plan on using anything else for a minuite, but I've had a disposition against it ever since they disabled the ability for me to make my own skins!
