Hi, I'm a singer in a metal band, does anyone know of some software I could use to gruff up my voice, im using cubase and reason but still cant get the desired effect. Any help would me great, thanks.
I'm a cubase sx user too by the way.
There isn't any particular software vocal fx plugin that i know of that can actually do what you ask, however.. there might be a way to improve on the vocals using "Waves" plugin either the RBass or MaxxBass plugin
Let me explain.. Record the vocals in as gruff a voice as you possibly can on one track, then make a copy of that and put it on another track, now apply one of the plugins i mentioned to the copied track and experiment with the settings, or you can also try using guitar fx distortion on that track, and if you wanna make even more interesting, push the copied vocal track forward in time by a few miliseconds.
Keep experimenting till youre satisfied and then mixdown both vocal tracks into one.
Hope this helps
You could try Audacity. Tinker with that a bit and see what you can do.
