I was shocked and deeply saddened to hear the news. Guitar players and music fans across the world are mourning the loss of one of the greatest guitarists of all time. Good-bye Eddie, your legend wont soon be forgotten.

Eddie, was an inspiration to me, even though I was a Keyboardist.
I always wanted to do solos as he did as a guitarist. This song Messenger celebrates that ethos. I always wanted my synth solos to be as grand as his guitar solos. This tune I made while chatting with my friend and amazing classical composer Rachel Nussbaumer, back in 1998. I played this with my left hand on a keyboard that was made for windows 98, while chatting on AOL with my right hand. he was an influence and a great musician and artist and will be missed in the pantheon of great artists and musicians.
    A Tribute!

I was in high school when VH exploded onto the music scene. It really turned the music industry on it's side and influenced all the 80's "hair bands" and rock music as a whole.

Here is a cool interview with him. He gives his family history, which is interesting, how he developed his skills as a player and how his needs as a guitarist shaped his electronic skills to develop his own guitars. He's up there with Les Paul and Leo Fender as far as his contributions to the development of the guitar.
