Hey looper peeps, I need some help!
I want to make a beat without sampling a song but having trouble playing the chords for it to make my version. The song is by Bobby Caldwell called, Carry on. I have an idea that it should start with G-B-A-C and move from there but I lost on the rest. Please help if you can.

The first 4 chords in the intro are dotted crochets following C, F, Am for half a bar, Dm7 for half a bar and then F again for the fourth bar. There are more chords which go throughout after, but you can find those here:

I would take it with a pinch of salt because from I hear, the chords also have the fifth or third change in the chord towards the end of the bar, but these chords should just suffice on their own.

    Best of luck.

Right, I seen that in my research. You can't copyright a chord that you play, right?

no, it is illegal to copyright a chord progression. If you remake the progression, you are totally fine. Otherwise, Pop artists from the last 40 years would be suing each other.
