Why Do My Loops Always Stutter

    I create a loop, put a left and right locator and export the audio. Yet, after uploading, none of them loop seamless, while other users' loops do. There's no remainder at the end of my loops but still it plays a gap when uploaded. Why?

    Please see this thread, it may have the answers you seek.

    You are playing the loop on looperman after uploading yes??

    I have listened to a couple of your loops and the only "stutter" I can hear, is at the end of the loop when the loop is repeated. Don't worry about it.. it's not something you are doing wrong.

    Take this loop for example: https://www.looperman.com/loops/detail/77275/tell-her-electric-guitar-62a-by-mrfunktastic-free-62bpm-rnb-electric-guitar-loop

    Joe is a formidable producer and this loop SEEMS to stutter at the end... and you know what? It probably does and also sounds bad when you download it and try to use it in a song because the producer obeyed the rules and stuck to the rigid "your loop must loop" rule.. instead of letting the loop finish naturally

    The way around this problem??? Upload your loops with the full tail (like, if you have reverb/delay etc... leave it in place and let it play out - and THEN upload your loop)

    If someone downloads it and isn't smart enough to figure out that they need to take the tail of the loop into account, then they probably shouldn't be wasting their time with music.

    There's nothing worse than auditioning a fantastic loop and then having to discard it because the end of the loop has it's natural release time cut short...

    p.s .. sorry to use your loop as an example Mr Funktastic xDDDD

    Formidable producer, ha ha ha? Thanks Wong Ki Shoo! But I just so happen to have some seamless loop examples from years ago:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-kI-zGlCpuQ (2012)
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0-vmNqXoY8k (2013)

    @eluterius
    What DAW are you using, do you have external audio (USB, etc.), are you using ASIO, do you have any fxs enabled. Send me your loop please.

    These are seamless because they are being played directly in your DAW :) make a WAV out of them without a tail and try to use it in a track where it does not get repetitive and the transitions are smooth and I will eat my words..

    Like with your "Tell Her" loops.. love them individually, but trying to build a complete track around them with a more advanced track structure is a monumental challenge (for me at least)

    In the tell her loops it is not a glitch, gap, or DAW error. It was a human error. The loop project was not quantized correctly so the beginning note does not start exactly at song position 1.1.1, it starts slightly after the first bar. Expand it in your wav editor to see. The first MIDI note is not on 1.1.1 or time index 0:00:00

    As far as my other examples you said that it only loops perfectly in my DAW project, and that is incorrect. It loops perfectly as a WAV. You suggested I should export it. I quantized it first. Here you go:

    https://www.looperman.com/loops/detail/135579/wong-ki-shoo-synth-144-144bpm-trap-synth-loop
    You can start eating your words now. I don't have export problems. If you find another one chances are I probably forgot to quantize it.
    ...................................................
    Anyways, thanks so much for pointing that out, I am not offended in any way, I am happy that you did point that out. I will take those down now. It was a quantization error and not an export error. But an error resulted due to it not being correctly quantized. I cannot recreate them because I am missing some of the VST's and fxs VST's.

    Thanks for the answers!

    JosephFunk, I use Cubase Elements 9 but the same happened when I used VST 5.
    When I create a loop I always play it between the left and right locator to work on it. I also need to set these locators so cubase "knows" what part to export when the loop is finished.

    The loop runs seamless in Cubase but it's on Looperman where i hear a gap when I play my loops. It plays a pause between repeating the loop. When uploading I enter the right tempo and all that.

    Has someone tested my loop or could someone do that please? Pick a random loop and check if it sounds okay because that's why i worry a little. Thanks!

    The tell her loops were VST's and not acoustic?!?!?! :O

    I could have sworn they were recorded instruments they sounded that good!

    I made some MIDI's out of them and tried to get a rough approximation of what you had so I could fully edit them, but every guitar or piano vst I tried sounded soulless in comparison ... I don't suppose you remember what vst you used do you?

    @eluterius.. I think it is just the website that pauses your loop when it plays again. Nothing you can do about that ma dude. Try downloading your loops yourself and test them out in your DAW :)

    @eluterius
    I hope it all works out man. I will leave you to the very capable hands of @WongKiShoo.

    @WongKiShoo
    Man, thanks. I wish you could of mention that to me earlier, oh well! But the downloads on just one of those loops ran over 3k+. It would of been irresponsible for me to leave them posted here.

    Okay the VSTi was, Kontakt. The Library engine is called: Evolution Dracus. I used it in conjunction with with fx routed external saturator and compressor to dial in just hint more sound along with a High Pass Filter to isolate some of the bass frequencies on the lead guitars and I kept everything under -6dB's. Kontakt - Evolution Dracus comes with its own internal fxs rig that is totally customizable and much prefered when using Dracus. Between 2014 when I made those loops and today, I had a computer mishap at some point resulting in losing the project files, many VST's and many other things, so I had to delete all of those loops on this site. Thanks again. Joe
