Youve created a track but how do you give it that polished edge ? Discuss the art of mixing and mastering and swap production techniques.
I have been producing for a while and I have gotten better at mastering over time but I still feel like my tracks don't have a full wide sound of a professional mix. Any tips for mastering in logic x?
Heres my most recent track for reference...
All help is appreciated
Stereo spread certain elements to make more room, use a multipressor on the master buss, overdo your kick by boosting the low end and then compressing to compensate (since i assume you're using programmed drums compressing by itself will only change the sound of the kick not necessarily help it fit any better in the mix), also get izotope ozone if you don't already have it, it's amazing. Also it sounds like you have a lot of crowded parts in the high end so maybe try to find some sort of tape emulator or use a FET compressor or something to try and emulate a mixing boards warmth.
Your track is pretty damn good though compared to most
