Hey guys n gals,
I hope everyone had a fantastic festive season and I see a ton of you have been very busy. I was going through a whole lot of tracks in the last week and I keep noticing a trend, particularly in trap songs. It seems a lot of our urban producers are using the bass-drum sample from the TR-808, but are not bothering with tuning.
So instead of complaining ONLY, I have linked a tutorial (FL studio, since a ton of ya'll use this, but I'm sure you can find a similar thing for whatever DAW you are using). This tutorial will assist in tuning your drum and some other tricks and tips. Have a look, I implore ya'll.
There are few things worse than having a great intro and build-up, only for a badly out-of-tune kick to come in and ruin a track. Apologies if you read this far and already know all this, but I thought I'd share nonetheless.
Keep making great music
I realise there are hundreds of videos like this, but this was the first one I found that included all the steps I wanted to share. Feel free to refer to other videos, as you please.
Nice Tip Man,i have also noticed a few myself,Great tracks but the detuned 808 just throws it out of wack
i find this more easily to follow myself only because BWB seems to talk to much for my liking lol but each to there own, peace bro
