Discuss all things hardware such as studio gear, intruments, sound cards, grooveboxs. Recomended setups, problems, advice
Someone got be a £30 Amazon voucher for Christmas and I want to use it to get something audio related, not necessarily something that I would use all the time, but something to add to my collection.
So, does anyone have any suggestions of cheap audio hardware that I could purchase on Amazon?
I know £30 is not a lot, and that is part of the challenge. (I am willing to go over by a couple of quid)
its not a bad starting point mate,
http://www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=nb_sb_ss_i_0_9/279-5161617-2946247?url=search-alias=aps&field-keywords=korg nano&sprefix=korg+nano,aps,211&rh=i:aps,k:korg nano
try a Korg nano if its for production... the are a cool little things.
there are three sections that you can get ... the keyboard, drum pad and the controller.
depending on what youve got already... andfrom looking at the music you have up on your page id suggest either the keyboard or the drum pads.
what equipment have you already got ?
if you are willing to put 20 more into it then id suggest looking at an audio interface/ external sound card, it might not seem like much when starting but even a basic one will be beneficial in the future.
the link wont paste properly so just select it and copy and paste it to your browser :)
My current setup is simply a launchkey mini + nanoKontrol (original). The nanoPad might be a good idea.
If I was to put an additional £20 in, what interface would you suggest?
The M audio ones are okay for a cheap start. but amazon doesnt have them... so you aren't left with much options as its an amazon voucher...
They are good if you plan on recording any vocals, or even real instruments.
so here are a few i saw from having a quick look
1 Behringer UMC22... never used it personally... also its behringer so people might laugh at you ...
it used to say on the top of Nirvana's rider requests "if there is any equipment by behringer we shall refuse to play"
i actually own this but dont use it.
you cant have mine but you can buy that one. :) its also a midi interface only.
I found this one which is 44% off atm so it is only £50:
I saw that when I had a look before.
I dont know lexicon.
I dont know anything about that particular item.
The reviews seem good though.
See if you can find a review on a different website. Also see how much it is on other sites. Dont be fooled by the discount amount. Legally in the uk the product only has to be listed at that price for a week. So they put it high for a week then drop it back down slightly lower than before and people think their getting a bargain when they arent.
Just had a look. Seems to go for about 50 everywhere.
Never the less the reviews seem to think its great. Seems like a steal.
Apparently it was originally shipped with cubase.so make sure it isnt second hand. Otherwise you might not be able to use the product key.
I think I might go for it, technically I will only be spending £20 of my own money on it so all things considered it is a steal. Checking other reviews, I can't see any negatives for the price bracket.
Agreed. If its the type of thing you want then you cant go far wrong there.
Cheers for the help DubTek.
No problems mate.
Let me know how it goes!
