I'm from Pakistan and I like playing around with drum hits and percussion in the 122-135 Beats per minute range. Thats my home. I don't mind adding a bassline (although thats not really my strong point) and a some chords and vocal hits are always welcome. I've always thought of house music as a very strong force which always transcends geographical as well as mental borders. There is something about that repetitive beat that takes me to a very cool place in my head.
A bit about myself. I'm a Business student from Rawalpindi, a bustling but over-burdened city towards the north of Pakistan. I've never been much for schooling, which always interferes with my education (I heard that somewhere), but I think I learn pretty quickly. What motivates me is that I don't know ANYone around who takes their love of music a step further, into production. Perhaps its the lack of inspiration, but for the love of God I can't understand that, because I find inspiration all around me. Or maybe my fellow Pakistani's are afraid to venture into unknown territory. (whyyyy?)
I'm here to ask many questions, because I don't want to play around with drum samples all my life, but want to move further and perhaps, one day, make a full blown house track that keeps listeners interested for the full six and a half minutes. That'd be a cool day :)
So, my name is Krore, and it means ten million in Urdu. I'm here to learn and I've got a good ear. The other one is not too bad either.
Hello Krore, You've come to the right place. There's all kinds of talented musicians on this site. In fact it isn't actually unusual for Tom Jones to drop by. FR
Welcome Krore and I am sure you have found the right school in Looperman where there are many teachers dedicated to all things music. Very valuable site is Looperman.... as Yoda would phrase it!!
Thank you everyone for the warm greets! I already feel as though I'm at home. I'm currently working on a 126 bpm drum track and I've heard some loops here that may just give me that creative bump I've been keeping an ear out for.
This place is so huge! I won't be able to absorb all of it if I had years, and I lik it! Looking forward to Q&A and tutorial time with all of you talented and experienced folks.
good to see you. You're into house hunh? Upload something or the other, thats the next step and you'll get some good advice here.
You should try basslines first if you think its not your strong point. Build on your weaknesses and rest assured you're going to find some really helpful advice, and soon you'll be comfortable enough to experiment. Thats KEY!
Show us what you got!
P.s, pop some candy and listen to "just the tip- hatiras vocal mix", and then we'll talk ;)
Thank you everyonme once more! I feel so good for all the greetings I get here. Everyones mood is so welcoming.
hello dv8 I love lahore I visit it often. Nice to see a fellow pakistani here. I saw your page and see that you are a dub producer. I heard some songs they were nice. Yes I'm into house I love it. I cant upload basslines because I'm not so good at it but I am working on a song and well ofcourse it needs a bassline so yes i will be building on weakness :)
I like that the only clause is my imagination because that is limitless!!!
what do you mean pop some candy? I heard the song on youtube it was pretty good. the synth work on it was very excellent! lots of energy in it. Why would eating candy be required?
I dabble in dub my friend. And I meant upload your work in progress, it'd be cool to hear what you're about, y'knw? get a sense of where your house mentality is at. In your own time mate.
Glad you liked my stuff hehe. Looking forward to hearing yours.
