    Whats the name of that weird sound you here in alot of westcoast rap. I think it's some kind of synth. I dont really know how to describe the sound but you can hear it in the Sublime song "Garden Grove" around the 1:25 mark. Or in the song "Dope Man" by NWA (probly half way through the song). Or in The Game's "Westcoast" (The whole way through). Those are just examples of what im talking about.

    If you know the answer to this question, please tell me cuz im buggin about the fact that I dont know what it's called.

    Yeah, you're talking about that high-pitched sound like in Dr. Dre's "The Chronic" or GTA San Andreas? I'm not sure how that is made. It sounds like a synth piano, but I'm not really sure if that is how it is made. I'd like to get a watch with an alarm that made that sound...

    Listen to the song "funky worm" by the ohio players. Its the song that originated the west coast whistle.

    @N3F
    It's a little more complicated than just a sine wave. It has a slight portamento and some filters as well
