@rollgee re-read, no problem, determined the material:)

    check this:

    Addictive Drums

The best plugin/workstation for the drums, this is a demo,
but definitely worth a buy, a lot of dnb producers using AD,
especially Pendulum they made "Silico" album, using AD!
CHECK, great sounds, just too bad that is demo:(

Hahah.. I love these logbook thingys.

I know for a fact... that Drum and Bass is all good and great.

But it's when I see dudes like KJ Sawka and Jojo who play drums and pretty much perfectly emulate the drum machine.

    Totally epic.

I need to sit down and really read through and watch a lot of these vids.

But if any of you got the time I would LOOOOOVE to see more Metal Drum and Bass and/or Jungle Drum and Bass.
    Punk Drum and Bass...

I kinda trip on the genre thing, because for me EVERYTHING is all relative.. I go more by mood and flow.

But the thing about Drum and Bass for me personally, is how well it can fit with other somewhat "cliquey" and "niche" genres.

haha, I was actually sitting down, and trying to write a Folk Drum and Bass song.
I think Cybertooth and Blume have heard bits and pieces of it.
But I am using all organic instruments, and then using some masking like modulations to make an acoustic bass sound like a Reese (and badly at the moment lol)....

If someone has a moment to suggest just straight up Metal DnB or Metal Jungle, or Punk DnB. I would be forever grateful.

On a quick sidenote, it's been a goal of mine to start a Drum and Bass metal band. But I run into soo many narrowminded musicians (mainly drummers and guitarists) who look at a computer at a rock gig like a nerd at the frat house.
    Screw em! hehe

(Apologies if someone did mention this subgenre already, I only skimmed the thread and noticed the Josh guy saying something about metal)

Why is there not more of this music?!?!

DAMNIT.... I am going to make it a goal of mine to start a band that is just Breakbeat DnB glitch metal punk.

    You are the man 9rihter.

Cybertooth turned me on to whourkr as well... Glitch metal?!? what in the lol??

So far, I only have two tracks that are metal dnb and they are pretty messy (I used to be a huge alcoholic) and collaborations with JackRipper.
Damn I deleted the other one :/

I have talked to Blume about doing some Metal Drum and Bass tracks.. I would be INCREDIBLY interested in working with any of you in the future to make something like that happen?

I know as far as DnB I have heard about the Slayer Boot (Amon Tobin Remix)
(Sounds kinda messy to me tho)

Deftones Drum and bass EPIC EPIC EPIC

    But those are all remixes
    I want MORE lol

Does anyone have any good advice on creating your own Amens?
Soo far ... I have had great results with brush sounds (like jazz kits, layered over crappy hi-hats)...
It's easy to do the pattern..
Just focusing on the triplet feel of the kick, and getting the snares on the right punch.
But getting that overall "dirty" dnb Amen loop sound... I kinda hate relying on samples that have been processed over and over a thousand times since the original Amen Brother by the Winstons

Too bad those guys never got ANY money for it lol

Anyway, running guitar sims over have helped...
I dunno Breakbeat a brother out.

try using a tad of tube distortion and add alil bit of verb to your snare

i dont put verb on my bass kicks but i do use a lil bit of tube distortion on it as well

    makes everything kinda fat.....

    Top Thread!
Some people consider King of the Beats by Mantronix as a seminal work in the evolution of D n B. Dee Patten, Whos The Badman? incorporated basslines of some magnitude.

King Of The Beats by Mantronix is regarded by some as a seminal work in the advancement of Breakbeat and Jungle styles. Anyone put a link up for Dee Patten/Whos The Badman?

Can we revive this one please!?? I was just going to make a thread for dnb. I wasn't even aware we had a logbook for what is actually becoming my favorite genre. Didn't know there was one for Grime as well

I think these are two of the most underrated genres on this site. But I guess it's all with trends that come and go. Preferences and opinions. Backgrounds and what's familiar to a person(s).

And if I'm not mistaken, these are two genres based out of the UK that have not exploded in the US. WHYYYY???

Dubstep is cool and I was digging Skrillex when he first came out, but he's technically brostep and dubstep is about the BASS. When I think dubstep, I'm talking about roots. Example:

    Digital Mystikz- Haunted

Subs is a MUST. Shame on me for not having any sub monitors yet and I can't do much about a sub in a car as I won't get my next one till December.

Grime would be really dope to hear in the US, especially Dnb. But my friends always say dnb is too "fastpaced" for them. I mean it is usually at breakneck speeds of tempo from 160bpm-180bpm. But hell, does it give you alot energy!

Spor aka Feed Me an artist which also makes some pretty crazy dubstep tunes too. Why dnb can't be liked as much as dubstep is beyond me but dnb will rise again!
