Hey Brado, the quality of the track is great, the guitars sound full and have an overall big sound to them. It amazes me how great your tracks sound. I think you are a natural at this stuff, I think recording and mixing is an art like painting, with practice people can get better but some are just naturally gifted. You defiantly fall into the gifted category and practice just takes you up even further. Are planning on creating a track with that riff? I think it has a lot emotion and could really be a great song. Anyway good job

Thanks IWE! Sorry it took so long for me to reply, I've been busy with university work! I am hoping to add some vocals to this but I've been having a little bit of trouble getting vocals to sit the way I want them to on the track. I'm considering going to Mahloo as he has already offered his services :) We shall see though, I might be able to get it down. Haha! Best to you man!

Wow that is really a clean sound, the guitar is beautiful. I play a little guitar, mostly electric, loud and dirty, but I know how hard it is to get a clean and bright sound like that. Wow. Well done, its a pity its so short...

    Regreetings.

"simply strummed the strings whilst muting them and then compressed, distorted, delayed and reverbed it"

Yes - I do stuff like that quite often on various instruments. I sometimes try slightly unusual playing techniques that are more like effects eg just doing some sort of funk strumming on muted/harmonics on the guitar or bowing harmonics beyond the fingerboard (and behind the bridge) on the cello. This is often hit and miss and I'm generally not playing any obvious tune or riff. It's usually more of rythmic thing going on. Then I edit the takes and apply effects and something cool comes out. Your version here is a good example of this sort of approach.

    "I love cymbal swells"

I need to use them more rather than my usual, regular cymbal hits. They're very effective in sparse, chillout tracks.

Thanks you for promising to comply with my Nomadic commands. You could even have a go at using Paulstretch here on some vocals. Or guitar parts. Or some of those piano notes to make really huge, lengthy ones. Evisma has had some success with the software so you should try too. I still haven't got round to putting my cello through it, which is very lazy. I must also try piano.

    "9/10 isn't so bad"

That's generally considered good where I come from.

Best of luck with your lengthening.

How did I miss all these comments :( This is a late reply but better late than never! I need to download Paulstretch! I've been terribly busy with school since the past few months and haven't had any time for music lately, but I want to stretch the guts out of an electric or a vocal or something, to satisfy my stretch hunger. Thanks for the lovely comments as always Static, and I shall see you around the loop :3

I think Pete has said pretty much the same as my head tells me...love it Brado...and you already have that acoustic recording thing down pat I think....look forward to hearing the final....I`v e been trying to record acoustic in various ways for a long tome but seems like just sticking a mic (or 2) in the right spot works best....Cheers...Ed

Howdy Tumbleweed, glad to see you grace me with a comment! I just happened to position the mic perfectly, and the compressor took it to another level. Glad you liked it, I might make a acoustic recording tutorial video one of these days if I have the time.

    Yo.

"Working on my acoustic recording quality!

Haha - your acoustic recording quality is always excellent. At least to my humble ears.

0:42 that's a cool rhythmic sound. Is it guitar?

0:47 sounds a little like low cello. Perhaps low string pad?

    Good shaker there too.

    0:59 nice, distant piano notes.

    1:13 cymbal swell is good.

Damn you as this is too short. I command you to extend it and make it something bigger and better.

The Nomad has spoken so you must comply!

I'd give this 10/10 if it were longer so it's a 9 for now...

    Sup.

I should have been more accurate and said "improving" my acoustic sound haha. Pro Tools allows me to move forward in my production quality and that is a good thing for me!

:42 is indeed a guitar, I simply strummed the strings whilst muting them and then compressed, distorted, delayed and reverbed it. It's a neat sound.

:47 it is a low string pad! I wish I had a real, functioning cello! One day :3

:59 Yes, very nice. Reverbed the heck out of it for good effect.

1:13 I love cymbal swells, they help blend transitions so well.

I hope I don't get damned!! I guess I will have to finish this one now :P

The Brado has spoken and will comply!

    And aw shucks, a 9/10 isn't so bad :P

    Wow..

You left me behind seeking for words after this truly amazing piece of music. Seriously..

I agree with Nelephant that this indeed has a soul and sounds as pure emotion to me. Hard to describe but I feel happiness, love, a calm state of inner peace, a urge to just stare out of the window and let the music fully take over. I NEED MORE, finish it! lol

It has got splendid details in it for just being a 1:35 sneak a peek. I am not 'home' in acoustic that much but it sounds very good recorded to me. Listened it over and over for like 8x before I even finished this comment lol. Big fav!!!

"Anotha one" I love the intro wind/thundery stuff. It really sets a mood for the absolutely beauty of the guitar work. Reminds me of something I'd hear in "The most Beautiful Songs In The World" playlist on spotify. Not only is the quality top notch as usual, but it has a soul. Something I don't hear on alot of records nowadays. I can't wait to hear the finished track (: I'm sure it will be 684 times more amazing once it's completed. Congrats man, and Much love man! Peace!

Description : This is an acoustic cover of the song "Come As You Are" by David Crowder. I recorded, mixed, and mastered this one in two days! Almost done burned me out haha! Hope you enjoy!

My older brother does the lead vocals and I do everything else, from instrumentation to harmonies. No vocal-editing whatsoever in this one. The guitars were all one-take recordings. Updated the audio - I added tambourine hits in the 2nd and 3rd choruses; just helps make for a more moving song.

Description : This is my attempt at the one-hour challenge for LM (finished at 57 min 48 sec). I had to mix/master on the go and this was the result. Some bad chords here and there that I did my best to conceal, one-takes on guitar and piano and used an awesome acapella from a1000times, who wrote the words that Dikaiko sang over. I really like her voice. Anyhoo yea, I like this one a lot so probably gonna come back to this in the near future. Comments welcome.

Description : I put this under acoustic even though I did use a couple midi tracks. I felt they sounded acoustic enough to put the track in that category. Nothing too complicated here and I felt it sounded good enough to upload so enjoy!
