I made this using a sitar, strings, my own take on tabla style drums, tamborine, a wind instrument the whole shizam ya know? And of course i had to throw in some bumps as always. I used a free Native American chant (Sioux War Dance) I got off the internet as the backing / percussive back track.
The lyrics come from an ad-lib I did over the music, and was recorded in one take! (you can tell, can't you!)
Someone asked me how I came up with the name for this song, and I couldn't tell them it's from closing my eyes and imagining this huge mountain and the red sun setting behind it... (Lame!) Any crit is welcomed. This is my first track upload! |

UPDATE--- I decided to put this in the ethnic genre because it's more Native American than Ambient. Being part Native American I've always been drawn to this type of music. This is actually the 3rd song I've made using a Native American sound. Unfortunately due to hard drive failure I lost the others. |

I wanted to combine my hard bass sound with soothing Indian vocals in the backdrop, with rap. I came across this gentleman's French rap, and thought it was amazing, so I used it. I added a little 70's guitar lick in there. The drum beat is pretty standard. All in all, I think it's a pretty decent World Music track. |

One of the very short pieces I worked on one late night in July around 2 AM, trying to brainstorm. I have been thinking of ways to expand this piece, but my skill level right now has prevented me from fleshing this out more.
This piece was made in FL Studio 8 Producers edition and it was a solo effort. The samples used are from free Directwave samples downloaded in FL8: Violin-Marcato and India Udukku. There is also a free sample from FPC (also downloaded in FL-8): World Japan Free. |

My second, shorter, Gm attempt at latin rock. Drums are Mixcraft, scratcher and congas from a loop pack, guitars are all me. Holly provides the pella, bass line is a piano roll type instrument track. I thought I'd get back to playing my guitar, It was supposed to be Santana-esque, but some Satriani came out..lolz.. (edit* I took some guitar out, it was monotonous and self indulgent..)
It's still rough (three days old) and syncing Holly's 'pella is not as easy as I thought. it took some phrasing changes.

This was quick work by my standards - something like three weeks. Basic piano loop and drums are made by one of the greatest loopermaniacs Mr Robot - and they have been the driving force of inspiration. And while I feel there is still some work to be done (definetely, production side needs more cleaning), I kinda feel very proud about this track .
