Continued relentless mix exploration in search of the secret to the Felix Pappalardi bass tone. Based on a piano theme by Mike Burgess. Sky Voltage Guitar-Bass-Drums-Engineering.
Recorded direct into Acid Pro 6. Each track rendered individually and ported into Sonar 5. Snare track received a touch of Lexicon reverb. Guitar track embellished with 30ips Tape saturation emulation. Bass track has an amp simulator and the Master Mix track has the Sonitus Multiband Compression scheme.
Finished in Sound Forge.

Another mix in a series of attempts to discover the secret of the unique Felix Pappalardi Bass tone. I added a backing guitar track on the left. Fixed a couple lead guitar mishaps. Found a reasonably usable intro for now. I do realize this arrangement plods along forever wandering within a limited chord progression. The quest here is to try to find that unique bass tone. I am getting closer, so please enjoy this piece for what it is. A work in progress with a focused goal.

Layered nylon string leads over steel string and nylon string guitar rhythm. Percussion includes standard drum kit, hand drums and rainstick among others. Perhaps a bit much on the layered leads at times but the intended spirit is there for the taking. |

Another question of true genre. I list acoustic though I guess this could be included in ambient as well. Trying to create a feeling of comfort and security, thus the title "Cradle". Used this piece for credits score for one of my attempts at film making and had a similar mix posted previously entitled Maria. Working out the bugs on that one. |

Tracking in SONAR 5. Used a single drum loop as a guide, Tracked keys for the progression. (Kurzweil K2000S) Add Bass guitar track (Gibson EB-1) and finally shred with Strat .

Groove Quest.
