Anything and everything influences me, rock, pop, soul, funk, RnB, Latin the list is endless, as long as it’s played well and sounds cool I like it. I’m a big jazz fan being primarily a saxophonist, Stan Getz, Sonny Stitt, Charlie Parker, Andy Sheppard and Snake Davis being big influences on my style. I love Les Paul guitars and good old rock n roll, favourite guitarists Slash, Gary Moore, Neal Schon and of course Les Paul. Favourite song writers are;Tom Waits, Elvis Costello, Paul Weller, Sting, Paul Simon, Curtis Stigers, Linda Perry you get my drift. |
My Music Sounds Like
Natural samples of real instruments turn me on because they don't date the music as much. I only use drum and percussion samples in my songs, everything else you hear is played. Some of the earlier Jump the Q songs are live recordings with the band set up in the studio. All the recent songs are using Ableton and the tone port download some and let me know what you think. |
