I am MHYST, a music producer and record label owner from Huddersfield, England. I help to run The Fusion Room Records, and also write and produce both trance and new age music under my Mhyst name.

My greatest technical achievement was passing Grade 8 Piano at age 15 (10 years ago now!) with distinction and one of the highest marks (142/150).

More recently, I was amazed to be accepted to study Music Technology on an unconditional offer without the right qualifications and only my solo album to convince them.

I think I have probably disappointed my parents becoming a music producer, I think they envisaged me as a concert pianist. I would not feel at home there, I love what I do now and would not change it for any amount of money or the world.

I think that any form of creative expression should be respected, encouraged, and used to it's maximum potential in whatever way it comes.

I prefer to take the view that it's about what YOU want to do with your talent, not what other people want, otherwise you will have a miserable frustrating life and that can't be good for anyone...
