For anyone who is having problems with scratching, I'm about to tell you a trick that will help you out tremendously. When i started instead of using the mixing channel fader i used the Phono Line switch on the top of the mixing board because it is an instant on off instead of a fade in. I started out with a high pitch scream that was on a sample record and just began chopping it up with the channel toggle. From there, i realized that it wasn't any different from the channel fader. Alot of my fellow DJ's are intimidated by the channel fader and i know that i was. This totally solved my problem and i hope it will solve yours too.

if u position ya fingers so they like a spring on the fader and jus tap spring finger wiv ya thumb u get the same effect...if u learn the proper way first it shouldn be a problem...i see people grip the fader in there fingers and try to physically move it,its never gonna sound good like that coz the levels and cutoff wil be all over the place..practise getting the feel of the fader from the start and it wil stop u from learning pointless techniques....
