Hey guys, looking for some help this time,
im currently working on a dirty electro house track and my bass seems too be lacking a 'presence'

whats a song that has the bass sound you are going far? |

If it's in FL. try blood overdrive no dist just color to 0.2-0.3 and some preband you may want to add some high freq noise to it. saturate it a bit. compress it(dunno in your case) That should do imo |
Are you talking about a wop wop wop sound like a 4x4 UK bassline bass sound?
If it's fatter that's one thing. Doubled up and sent to a send track with a LP eq setting to capture subs always helps. |

make sure to use sub under every bass you use..thats wot i always do..young also hit it wiv blood overdrive...is a good tool.. |
I have a sub under every bass hit going already, ill have a play with blood overdrive now, thanks guys |

try duplicating your bass track, and then hard panning each, (ie 1st track 90% right, copy, 90% left).
If you're still having problems, pick up a copy of computer music magazine, they have tons of great tips in there, very resourseful, plus every issue comes with tons of loops, software, and demos of new vst's. |

I think you got enough bass its just that it doesnt hit the right frequencies. mess with eq and check your compressors settings imo |
I think you may be right, ill have a mess with that tonight |

At 1 min it sounds like your putting a very subby flappy kik in there. thats probly where the problem lies, kiks are bass too (im sure u know that, not tryna teach you to suck eggs dude:)
And it sounds like it has a very long tail on it, change the kik your using for the low end, (to be honest it sounded fine with out it) or if you have the synth Z3ta try the kick number 5 in the drums section ;)
Also the sub bass may be a little to loud, the bass as a whole could use coming down about 2/3 db.
Hope any of that helps :)

Side chain compression... Clip the sub across bass drum hits and keep your bass drum above 90Hz to allow for the bass freqs to have room.
Just thinking out loud. |

Thanks both of you, i know the kick is bass but i never thought of it being the problem, ill have a mess around now =] |
