Im please to announce that today marks the start of the official Looperman All Genre Competition 2009.
The idea behind this competition is to have a little fun and help to get your best tracks heard. There is no millions in prize money to be given away but merely the kudos of having your track chosen as the best in its genre by the members of looperman.
We'll keep the rules very simple
THE RULES
- You may only enter one track per genre
- Users with more then one track in a single genre will have those tracks ignored
- The same track may not be entered to multiple genres
- You may enter as many genres as you like
- Your track must have been written and uploaded at any time from the 1st January 2009 up until the 31st October 2009
- Your track must have a decent title rather then something like track 1, track 2 etc
- Your track must have a decent description explaining maybe how the track was made or what it means to you.
- You may not discuss your track in relation to this competition in any way that could be seen as touting for votes etc
- Do not let anyone know the tracks you have entered or the genres you have submitted tracks to
- Tracks may be submitted during October
- Voting takes place during November
- Winners announced first week of December
- Winning tracks will be featured on the site to help promote the winning artist
- Do not start ANY forum posts about the competition
- Do not mention the competition in your track description
- ask any questions regards the competition in this thread only
HOW TO ENTER YOUR TRACKS
- Go to your profile
- Go to your tracks
- Edit the chosen track
- Set the option for "Enter All Genre Comp" to Yes
Once you have done that youll see the letters "AGC" in the title bar of your track. You will only be able to see this on your own tracks and so will not know who else has entered a track or the genres with tracks entered.

Wow this is great and i like how the competition is structured. good job and am looking forward to hearing every genre and everyone's music. I might submit my old cuts or make new one's but this competition is good. Time to rally the looperman troops.[lol] |

already i can see people mentioning where they are entering tracks and already i see users with more then one track in a single genre.
Check the rules to be sure your tracks are not ignored in the comp |

If the genre we want isn't up there should we write it in the desc. and if enough people have a song of that genre a new category could be opened?
I'm thinking that because I'm guessing loads of songs will be added under the common genres like Techno, meaning the competition will be pretty tough in that genre.
Sorry if that didn't make any sense, I couldn't think of a better way to word it.

as long as your track goes by the standard track upload guidelines in place for uploading tracks here and stays within the rules above its ok. |
