Looperman : Tue 9th Sep 2014 : 3 years ago This one has been on the back burner for ages and I've finally got it to stage where it done enough to open it to the public.

Its still very much work in progress but I know it will grow into a very useful resource.

    https://www.looperman.com/free-music-software

As you might have guessed by the title this is an ever growing database of free music software, VST plugins, VSTi instruments, DAWS and utilities.

At the moment only I can add new items but in future Ill open this up to developers to add and manage their own content.

Basic features to begin with are the ability to search and comment on the software listed but more will be added.

It doesnt cover presets or soundfonts as i felt they did not fit together and we always have to have something for the future. With that said i do plan on adding a new section for those too but not just yet.

If you are a developer and want to add your free stuff get in touch and ill get you listed.

If you know of something that is not yet listed and think it should be leave a comment here or contact me.

For now then, let me know if there are any problems.

    Evisma : Tue 9th Sep 2014 : 3 years ago Awesome!

I'm always leery about downloading a random VST, and I lose my only version of a 400 dollar DAW due to a virus.

Having a trustworthy place to get these has made my week! I've not wanted to get a new synth for fear of losing everything by virus, but the synth that comes with StudioOne, (Mojito), is quite lacking.

Thank you very much, I will now change my britches.

Looperman : Tue 9th Sep 2014 : 3 years ago The good thing here is that we will be able to get feedback from looperman members on whats hot or not and then be able to weed out the stuff thats worth using from the rest.

Spd2 : Tue 9th Sep 2014 : 3 years ago Hey Shan, this is a fantastic addition to the community. I just checked out the section and saw some really good and interesting stuff I might add to my plug in arsenal.

Some really good vst developers to look into are Variety Of Sounds and Tokyo Dawn Lab. They carry very good mixing and mastering plug ins.

StaticNomad : Tue 9th Sep 2014 : 3 years ago This could be a very useful resource!

I just checked out one link that took me to a company I'd never heard of called Plektron FX. They have freeware as well as stuff they charge for. But it's pretty damn cheap.

Here's a link to their guitar amp and multi effects unit.

    http://www.plektronfx.com/guitaramp.php

Price: 13 euros. That's only about 17 US dollars so I think I may give it a go.

I should add that such software will also be useful for people who do not play or record guitar or bass. It's just a multi effect and sound processing unit.

doudei : Sun 14th Sep 2014 : 3 years ago some other stuff totally worth adding:

    https://tone2.com/html/firebird vsti vst synthesizer plugin.html

http://www.tobybear.de/products.html (original author of minihost, fantastic midi tools, 32 bit only, mostly donationware)

the updated minihost (supports also 64 bit)
    http://www.image-line.com/support/FLHelp/html/plugins/Minihost Modular.htm

    what minihost is exactly:
it is a standalone "patcher", for those familiar with FL. or a "combinator" for VSTs, for those familiar with Reason.
pretty much a must-have plugin for the serious sound designer as well as the lazy preset-layerer.

    enjoy the goodies!

PS: you should allow to have "percent20" in the source, it says HTML is not allowed otherwise and will break links with spaces in them.

    joecramer : Tue 21st Oct 2014 : 3 years ago Cool list.

I am not sure but can it be that you dont have a link to
    Autogun ????
This vst gives you over 4294967296 (Four Billion Two Hundred Ninety Four Million Nine Hundred Sixty Seven Thousand Two Hundred Ninety Six) presets

You cant do realy much - just how much stereo you want and how much processor power you can give.
    But it sounds real good.

Be carefull! dont start just listening the sounds :)
You need 136 years, if you listen to 1 sound in 1 sec 24 hour´s a day :)

furioAtom : Sun 9th Nov 2014 : 3 years ago Caustic 3, a great little tool for music creation.
It's free on Windows and Mac and it cost like a cheesburger on Android and iOS

    It's that good believe me.
