yampaja : Sat 11th Feb 2012 : 3 months agooops, sorry about the html
Bilbozo : Sat 11th Feb 2012 : 3 months agoInteresting. I realize they are all free ringtones, but the artists may have something to say about that. At the bottom they state that they make the ringtones available by being supported by sponsored ads. So they are actually getting paid for what they are doing. I realize that everyone basically agrees that on Looperman that loops are royalty free and require no monetary compensation. This is a pretty unique and unusual case however, where a large number of loops have been copied and are being used on a site who in turn makes a profit from that service. Although I have no loops on there like Eshar, Shortbusmusic and many others, I am in complete disagreement on what they are doing. I feel some of the members are having their talent pilaged. It may not be illegal but I find this highly immoral.
& no worries about the link yampaja (actually that was good lookin out mate). Lates!

yampaja : Thu 16th Feb 2012 : 3 months agoEven if you wanted to stop the mining, neither site has any contact info.
I really don't care if my loop is on a phone somewhere,
but I'm with Bilbozo on the profit thing.

eshar : Thu 16th Feb 2012 : 3 months agoHi Yampaja,
I'm afraid this story is old news to some of us members on this site. I actually tried to start a campaign to get people whose loops were being used to contact the people concerned but in all honesty most people didn't seem that bothered.
The real problem with sites like these isn't our loops being used because in fact most people will never get to download them. These sites are actually phishing sites...you have to give them all kinds of personal info or take part in surveys before you can get to download.
Bottom line it's a scam!!!
CyberSon : Thu 16th Feb 2012 : 3 months agoSo, does this explain all the downloads without comments lol I'm guessing that these ringtone sites have been set up by shall we say, "users" of this site?
I agree with Bilboza, it's morally wrong, but we know the risks of putting our work up for download. Like I've said in my Take, Take, Take thread, it's the lack of respect that sticks in my throat. A simple acknowledgement would be appropriate.
